The first few slides are just bullet points mostly... there's a reason for that. Slide 5 starts to pick up the pace. This is a short primer on how to mind map and why they can be so effective. I've given this presentation to CEO Peer Groups and it is always successful with lots of questions and interaction. As a normal course I use Mind Maps to solve problems and build strategies for the Market Development work that I consult on for clients. If you like the presentation, will you "tweet" it for me?

Concept maps, wireframes, storyboards, and flow-maps speak to different audiences at different stages of the development cycle. This presentation provides examples of these documents and a toolkit for producing them."

As FE developers, we sit in between UX designers and BE developers.
Our apps must follow the guidelines from the UX, be compatible with the BE APIs while meeting the business requirements from our POs.
In this presentation I am addressing the relationship between UX and FE devs.
One way to collaborate better with our UX colleagues is to… learn a bit of UX and maybe share some Front End knowledge with them too.
Which design techniques do I have at my disposal & how do I know when to apply them? PART 1 of 2
There are a great number of design methods & it is important to choose those that are best suited to your particular circumstances & objectives.
In this class we look at some of those methods & talk about the criteria to take into account for their use.
A series of UX trainings created for several cross-functional teams creating both mobile and desktop products: visual designers, product managers, business analysts, developers, and interaction designers. The training was the foundation for a very large redesign/reconstruction project for a CRM and a dahsboard application. The principles and layouts draw on the pioneering work of Theresa Neil and Bill Scott.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

3. Mind Mapping and Concept
Mapping...what?
A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks,
or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central
key word or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize,
structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study,
organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing.
The mind map can be contrasted with the similar idea of concept
mapping: the former is based on radial hierarchies and tree
structures denoting relationships with a central governing
concept, whereas concept maps are based on connections
between concepts in more diverse patterns. When compared
with the concept map the structure of a mind map is a similar
radial, but is simplified by having one central key word
(Wikipedia).
4. Mapping Tips
A good way to define the context for a concept map is to
construct a Focus Question, that is a question that
clearly specifies the problem or issue the concept map
should have to resolve. Every concept map responds to a
focus question, and a good focus question can lead to a
much richer concept map. When learning to construct
concept maps, learners tend to deviate from the focus
question and build a concept map that may be related to
the domain, but which does not answer the question.

5. Mapping Tips
Once the preliminary map is built, cross-links should
be sought. These are links between concepts in
different segments or domains of knowledge on the
map that help to illustrate how these domains are
related to one another. Cross-links are key to show
that the learner understands the relationships
bet ween the sub-domains in the map.

Alberto J. Cañas Associate Director Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) www.ihmc.us
6. Mapping Tips
It is important to recognize that a
concept map is never finished. After a
preliminary map is constructed, it is
always necessary to revise this map.
Other concepts can be added. Good maps
usually result from three to many
revisions. This is one reason why using
computer soft ware is helpful.

Freemind (a free, multiplatform
branching soft ware)
Vue (a free, multiplatform mapping and
presentations soft ware)
9. Lovely Charts
my.lovelycharts.com
Lovely Charts is an online diagramming application that
allows users to create basic sitemaps, flowcharts and
diagrams that can then be exported to images.
Note: Lovely Charts does require an account to use. A free
basic account allows the user to work on one map at a time.
A premium account offers more features but we will be
working with the basic account. If you would prefer not to
create an account with Lovely Charts at this time, you
can simply follow along with the instructor.
10. Lovely Charts
