Microaggressions create an environment of marginalization, exclusion, and disrespect, leading to anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. They can further create an environment of distrust, fear, and hostility which can impede communication and collaboration between individuals. For example, Alex and Coach depict how a series of microaggressions can lead to alienation, frustration, and a lack of self-esteem (Walden University, 2021). The video highlights how microaggressions can lead to feeling misunderstood and lacking belonging (Walden University, 2021). As a social worker, I would respond by listening to their stories, validating their feelings, and offering support. I would help the student identify strategies to cope with the microaggressions they are experiencing, such as utilizing self-care activities, connecting with a support system, and seeking counseling. In the video, I demonstrated several practice skills, such as active listening, empathy, a non-judgmental attitude, and cultural humility. I used reflective listening to demonstrate my understanding of the student's experiences and feelings. The potential impacts of ethnic and racial microaggressions on adolescent psychological development can be far-reaching and long-lasting (Walden University, 2021). Such experiences can create shame, guilt, and anger, leading to depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. They can lead to feelings of isolation and marginalization, leading to an increased risk of engaging in high-risk behaviors such as substance use. Additionally, microaggressions can leave adolescents feeling disconnected from their cultural and racial identities, resulting in a lack of cultural competency and pride. As a social worker, I would create an open dialogue where the student can share their experiences and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental space. This would allow the student to gain insight into their feelings and help to create an action plan to address the negative impacts of microaggressions (Walden University, 2021). A key part of this process would be to utilize the values and ethics of the profession. This includes ensuring the student's rights to self-determination, confidentiality, and respect. Additionally, I would provide the student with resources and tools to help them effectively manage and cope with the negative impacts of microaggressions. Respond to two colleagues by providing constructive feedback on their choice of methodological approach. Would a different approach be more appropriate or effective in answering the research question? Why or why not? .

Keeping communication open and letting them freely Express what they may feel . Anger, frustration, being scared, be open to outbursts a student may feel. Every student may have a different look out, or feelings towards this.
One strategy that this web page mentions is “ letting the students guide how much or little information to provide and emphasize the positive things that are available to stay safe”( National Associated of School Psychologists ,2015).
I would have intervention strategies in place with faculty, in case something as horrific as this were to occur again. Being prepared for the worse is also a good preparation. Having teachers look for signs or change in a students behavior would be good to keep documented. Andrew Golden ended up being a shooter at a school facility. I would start out expressing my own feelings, and hurt towards the situation. Knowing that even adults or authority figures are in pain as well, can express that we are all human, with feelings and it’s ok to hurt.
The importance of talk therapy here is going to be really important with the aftermath of this tragedy. It is important to help these students feel safe in a place where this boy use to attend their school. By having one on one sessions a person can open up with confidentiality. Dome students may do better in group therapy, more open to talking with the support of friends. Both therapy’s allow the students to be honest and express their feelings.
They need to feel that school is a safe place for them to still be able to attend. By placing higher security, and prevention such as metal detectors may help the students to feel more safe as well. I would say having some intervention

Post draft outline
There are several errors I made in the process of writing my first draft. There are various grammatical errors that my first draft contains. For example, in the first paragraph of my draft, I wrote “in contrary” instead of “in contrast”. This led to that statement conveying a different meaning, which I had not intended to convey. In some sections of the draft, I also failed to use punctuations efficiently. For example, there are areas where I failed to put commas, which led to the statements becoming a bit difficult to be understood.
There are several phrases which I used in the draft that were a bit confusing to the reader. For example, the phrase, “increase in bullying experience than never experienced before”, was confusing to the reader. What this phrase simply meant was that technological developments had led to rapid flow of information, which had in turn led to an increase in bullying in our schools.
In the draft, I have also used some statements which are a bit confusing to the reader. For example, the statement, “anti-bullying writing guard”, confuses the reader a lot. The statement meant the tactics that should be used to curb bullying in schools. Despite these grammatical errors, the draft flows well and also conveys the message that I had intended to convey to the society.

These activities are usually referred to as rite of passage by the old members of that place. However, to the new members it is known as bullying. This is something that is very common in our society, for example in our homes, schools, prisons and even workplaces. However, this act is very common in our schools, as the kids are usually eager to learn new things. It is common to hear of bullying cases in our schools, especially the older students bullying the new and younger students. The acts of bullying have several effects on the students, as they lead to both psychological and physical torture. The moral model
This is based on religious and legal perspective. It acts as guidance to the right and wrong ideology of individual conduct within the society. However, the people who use the ideology exercise their own choices on what to follow. Religion gives a guideline of how people would live together harmoniously, but the law is infinite, therefore, cannot be measured. If we subconsciously know the wrong and right without having a set of guideline does it mean that we are also wrong in God's law. We incur emotional feelings that are unmeasurable and seen through our actions and reactions, Newman et al. 2013. This is in consideration to the consequences that involved due to their action. In the case of alcohol abuse, the individual involved will have addiction to the substance due to personal choice.
Psychological model
This refers to the social and emotional attributes that leads to the substance use. According to Lewis et al. (2014), individualren experience psychological trauma as an aftermath of witnessing violent activities. The effect varies with the age and gender of the individualren involved. Factors consistent in the posttraumatic stress effect include anxiety attacks; heightened stress level; emotional instability; developmental issues; less cognitive and disrupted habitual patterns such as sleep, eating disorder and emotional or physical pain. Life complexities have resulted in acts that have emotional, mentality and ability to act within different individuals. The outcome encompasses merging the understanding of the inner person and the society. The attribution to the concept includes the behavioral, learning, psychodynamic and personality model.
Cognitive has the characteristics of a behavior motivated due to the experiences that occurred in the intake of the drug. For instance, the participant enjoyed the use of the substance would want to indulge in the activity once more. This encourages the repeat action of the individual. However NIAA argues that it results in depression, withdrawal and nervousness of the afflicted. The brain recognizes the substance thus develops withdrawal characteristics in the person.

Abstract Children exposed to the trauma of domestic vio-
lence tend to experience difficulties with internalized and
externalized behavior problems, social skills deficits, and
academic functioning. Mental health practitioners in the
school setting, including school counselors, school psycholo-
gists, and school social workers, can address developmental
concerns that impede development through group counseling
interventions that include both structured activities and play
therapy. The school environment offers an ideal setting in
which to work with child survivors of trauma, as all students
have accessibility to school mental health resources. This
article outlines the primary objectives and corresponding pro-
cedures for a developmentally- appropriate group interven-
tions for elementary-aged children who have been exposed to
the trauma of domestic violence.

Nearly four million children in the United States struggle
with a diagnosable mental disorder that significantly hinders
various areas of functioning which impacts their ability to be
successful at school (U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services 1999). Less than 20% of those children will get the
mental health services they need (U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services 2000). Many of the urgent mental
health needs of children are first recognized and addressed
in the school setting (Farmer et al. 2003; Salmon and Kirby
2008). Recent research indicates the importance of provid-
ing mental health services for children within their schools
in order to help them succeed academically and socially
(Baker et al. 2006; Farmer et al. 2003).
School mental health professionals often provide preven-
tive and responsive interventions to student needs (American
School Counselor Association [ASCA] 2005; National
Association of School Psychologists 2010). In fact, the
ASCA (2005) recommends that school counselors spend at
least 80% of their time in direct contact with students. Based
on this, schools counselors often are faced with the wide-
reaching problem of domestic violence which affects ap-
proximately 15 million children each year (McDonald et al.
2006). Children who reside in homes marked by domestic
violence are exposed to various forms of aggression which
may include repeated physical assaults, mental humiliation
and degradation, threats and assaults with guns and knives,
threats of suicide and homicide, and destruction of property
(McClosky et al. 1995). Investigation of the negative effects
of children’s exposure to domestic violence reveals a link
between witnessing violence in the home and a wide array of

The purpose of the study was to determine the major parenting styles and their influence on senior secondary school students’ social interaction in the area. The study made use of a sample of 1517 senior secondary class 2 students. It was an expost facto design with a structured questionnaire for data collection. The instrument was pre-tested to establish its validity and reliability. The results indicated that most parents seemed to adopt authoritative parenting style in their child rearing. The study showed that parenting styles have significant influence on students’ social interaction. It was inferred that authoritative parenting enables students to have positive self-concept, self assertuion, self reliance, understanding, and creativity that lead to high performance and social competence while other parenting styles lead to anti-social behaviour. The term critical infrastructure (CI) has changed multiple times over the last twenty years; however, the general concept of what constitutes critical infrastructure has remained fairly consistent since the first formal definition was developed under the Clinton Administration in 19996 (Bennett, 2018). According to the author, since President William Clinton’s Executive Order 13010, the term and concept underwent various changes; two years after EO 13010, President Clinton signed the Presidential Decision Directive 63, which added the “cyber†to the definition of CI. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, CI was re-defined under the Bush administration per the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act of 2001. Bennett noted that the Homeland Security Act of 2002 added the concept of “key resources†to the CI definition, an area of CI that is crucial to the proper functioning of the various Cis. This post will discuss what critical infrastructure means, what soft and hard targets are, define cascading effects, and what the author believes is the most important CI within the author's geographical location and why this CI was chosen.

Critical infrastructure is a blanket term that encompasses 16/17 “systems and assets, physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that incapacity or destruction of such systems or assets would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, health, or safety, or combination of those matters†(Bennett, 2018, p. 41; Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency [CISA], 2020, pp. 1). As previously mentioned, the Homeland Security Act of 2002 added “key resources†to the definition of critical infrastructure; key resources are defined as the publicly or privately controlled individual resources essential to the minimal operation of the economy and government (Bennett, p. 41). Abstract
Two major functions of the visual system are discussed and contrasted. One function of vision is the creation of an internal model or percept of the external world. Most research in object perception has concentrated on this aspect of vision. Vision also guides the control of object-directed action. In the latter case, vision directs our actions with respect to the world by transforming visual inputs into appropriate motor outputs. We argue that separate, but inter- active, visual systems have evolved for the perception of objects on the one hand and the control of actions directed at those objects on the other. This ‘duplex’ approach to high-level vision suggests that Marrian or ‘reconstructive’ approaches and Gibsonian or ‘purposive- animate-behaviorist’ approaches need not be seen as mutually exclusive, but rather as com- plementary in their emphases on different aspects of visual function. 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. It is a common assertion that the fundamental task of vision is to construct a representation of the three-dimensional layout of the world and the objects and events within it. But such an assertion begs at least two fundamental and interrelated questions. First, what is vision? Second, what is the nature of the representation that vision delivers? These questions, which are central to the entire research enterprise in understanding human vision, form the framework for the present paper. In attempting to answer these questions, we will contrast what we believe are two major functions of the visual system. One function of vision is the creation of an internal model or percept of the external world – a model that can be used in the

recognition of objects and understanding their interrelations. Most research in object vision has concentrated on this function (witness the current volume). There is another function of vision, however, which is concerned not with object recognition, but with object-directed action. In this case, vision guides our actions with respect to the world by transforming visual inputs into appropriate motor outputs. We will suggest that separate, but interacting, visual systems have evolved for the perception of objects on the one hand and the control of actions directed at those objects on the other. This ‘duplex’ approach to high-level vision suggests that Marrian or ‘recon- structive’ approaches and Gibsonian or ‘purposive-animate-behaviorist’ approaches need not be mutually exclusive and may be actually complementary.

There are several errors I made in the process of writing my first draft. There are various grammatical errors that my first draft contains. For example, in the first paragraph of my draft, I wrote “in contrary” instead of “in contrast”. This led to that statement conveying a different meaning, which I had not intended to convey. In some sections of the draft, I also failed to use punctuations efficiently. For example, there are areas where I failed to put commas, which led to the statements becoming a bit difficult to be understood.
There are several phrases which I used in the draft that were a bit confusing to the reader. For example, the phrase, “increase in bullying experience than never experienced before”, was confusing to the reader. What this phrase simply meant was that technological developments had led to rapid flow of information, which had in turn led to an increase in bullying in our schools.
In the draft, I have also used some statements which are a bit confusing to the reader. For example, the statement, “anti-bullying writing guard”, confuses the reader a lot. The statement meant the tactics that should be used to curb bullying in schools. Despite these grammatical errors, the draft flows well and also conveys the message that I had intended to convey to the society.

Whenever a person is introduced in a new environment for example schools, there are various activities which the person is made to go through. These activities are usually referred to as rite of passage by the old members of that place. However, to the new members it is known as bullying. This is something that is very common in our society, for example in our homes, schools, prisons and even workplaces. However, this act is very common in our schools, as the kids are usually eager to learn new things. It is common to hear of bullying cases in our schools, especially the older students bullying the new and younger students. The acts of bullying have several effects on the students, as they lead to both psychological and physical torture. As a result of this, various measures have been put in place in order to control this situation in our schools, so as to provide students with effective and efficient learning environment.

This is based on religious and legal perspective. It acts as guidance to the right and wrong ideology of individual conduct within the society. However, the people who use the ideology exercise their own choices on what to follow. Religion gives a guideline of how people would live together harmoniously, but the law is infinite, therefore, cannot be measured. If we subconsciously know the wrong and right without having a set of guideline does it mean that we are also wrong in God's law. We incur emotional feelings that are unmeasurable and seen through our actions and reactions, Newman et al. 2013. This is in consideration to the consequences that involved due to their action. In the case of alcohol abuse, the individual involved will have addiction to the substance due to personal choice.
Psychological model
This refers to the social and emotional attributes that leads to the substance use. According to Lewis et al. (2014), individualren experience psychological trauma as an aftermath of witnessing violent activities. The effect varies with the age and gender of the individualren involved. Factors consistent in the posttraumatic stress effect include anxiety attacks; heightened stress level; emotional instability; developmental issues; less cognitive and disrupted habitual patterns such as sleep, eating disorder and emotional or physical pain. Life complexities have resulted in acts that have emotional, mentality and ability to act within different individuals. The outcome encompasses merging the understanding of the inner person and the society. The attribution to the concept includes the behavioral, learning, psychodynamic and personality model.
Cognitive has the characteristics of a behavior motivated due to the experiences that occurred in the intake of the drug. For instance, the participant enjoyed the use of the substance would want to indulge in the activity once more. This encourages the repeat action of the individual. However NIAA argues that it results in depression, withdrawal and nervousness of the afflicted. The brain recognizes the substance thus develops withdrawal characteristics in the person.
Learning model use the alcohol to establish positive reinforcement to their attitude, personality or trait. Abstract Children exposed to the trauma of domestic vio-
lence tend to experience difficulties with internalized and
externalized behavior problems, social skills deficits, and
academic functioning. Mental health practitioners in the
school setting, including school counselors, school psycholo-
gists, and school social workers, can address developmental
concerns that impede development through group counseling
interventions that include both structured activities and play
therapy. The school environment offers an ideal setting in
which to work with child survivors of trauma, as all students
have accessibility to school mental health resources. This
article outlines the primary objectives and corresponding pro-
cedures for a developmentally- appropriate group interven-
tions for elementary-aged children who have been exposed to
the trauma of domestic violence.

Nearly four million children in the United States struggle
with a diagnosable mental disorder that significantly hinders
various areas of functioning which impacts their ability to be
successful at school (U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services 1999). Less than 20% of those children will get the
mental health services they need (U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services 2000). Many of the urgent mental
health needs of children are first recognized and addressed
in the school setting (Farmer et al. 2003; Salmon and Kirby
2008). Recent research indicates the importance of provid-
ing mental health services for children within their schools
in order to help them succeed academically and socially
(Baker et al. 2006; Farmer et al. 2003).
School mental health professionals often provide preven-
tive and responsive interventions to student needs (American
School Counselor Association [ASCA] 2005; National
Association of School Psychologists 2010). In fact, the
ASCA (2005) recommends that school counselors spend at
least 80% of their time in direct contact with students. Based
on this, schools counselors often are faced with the wide-
reaching problem of domestic violence which affects ap-
proximately 15 million children each year (McDonald et al.
2006). Children who reside in homes marked by domestic
violence are exposed to various forms of aggression which
may include repeated physical assaults, mental humiliation
and degradation, threats and assaults with guns and knives,
threats of suicide and homicide, and destruction of property
(McClosky et al. 1995). Investigation of the negative effects
of children’s exposure to domestic violence reveals a link
between witnessing violence in the home and a wide array of
adjustment problems. Child-witnesses of domestic violence

The purpose of the study was to determine the major parenting styles and their influence on senior secondary school students’ social interaction in the area. The study made use of a sample of 1517 senior secondary class 2 students. It was an expost facto design with a structured questionnaire for data collection. The instrument was pre-tested to establish its validity and reliability. The results indicated that most parents seemed to adopt authoritative parenting style in their child rearing. The study showed that parenting styles have significant influence on students’ social interaction. It was inferred that authoritative parenting enables students to have positive self-concept, self assertuion, self reliance, understanding, and creativity that lead to high performance and social competence while other parenting styles lead to anti-social behaviour. Authoritative parenting style is therefore recommended to enhance students’ social interaction. The term critical infrastructure (CI) has changed multiple times over the last twenty years; however, the general concept of what constitutes critical infrastructure has remained fairly consistent since the first formal definition was developed under the Clinton Administration in 19996 (Bennett, 2018). According to the author, since President William Clinton’s Executive Order 13010, the term and concept underwent various changes; two years after EO 13010, President Clinton signed the Presidential Decision Directive 63, which added the “cyber†to the definition of CI. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, CI was re-defined under the Bush administration per the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act of 2001. Bennett noted that the Homeland Security Act of 2002 added the concept of “key resources†to the CI definition, an area of CI that is crucial to the proper functioning of the various Cis. This post will discuss what critical infrastructure means, what soft and hard targets are, define cascading effects, and what the author believes is the most important CI within the author's geographical location and why this CI was chosen.

Critical infrastructure is a blanket term that encompasses 16/17 “systems and assets, physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that incapacity or destruction of such systems or assets would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, health, or safety, or combination of those matters†(Bennett, 2018, p. 41; Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency [CISA], 2020, pp. 1). As previously mentioned, the Homeland Security Act of 2002 added “key resources†to the definition of critical infrastructure; key resources are defined as the publicly or privately controlled individual resources essential to the minimal operation of the economy and government (Bennett, p. 41). According to Bennett, while key resources do not hold the same status as critical infrastructure, they are important and necessary for the production, functioning, and maintenance of various critical infrastructures. 1. Introduction
It is a common assertion that the fundamental task of vision is to construct a representation of the three-dimensional layout of the world and the objects and events within it. But such an assertion begs at least two fundamental and interrelated questions. First, what is vision? Second, what is the nature of the representation that vision delivers? These questions, which are central to the entire research enterprise in understanding human vision, form the framework for the present paper. In attempting to answer these questions, we will contrast what we believe are two major functions of the visual system. One function of vision is the creation of an internal model or percept of the external world – a model that can be used in the

There is no comprehensive theory of international migration. Those that exist tend to focus on manual labor migrants and then extend, haphaz- ardly, to the origins and patterns of settlement of professional migrants, entrepreneurs, and refugees. Existing theories can be organized into four categories: (1) determinants of the origins of migration; (2) determi- nants of its continuation and directionality; (3) uses of migrant labor; and (4) patterns of migrant settlement and adaptation. In this chapter we review and evaluate these theories and note their applicability to the different types of migrant described in the prior chapter.
The Origins of Migration Push-Pull
The most widely held approach to the causes of migration is that of push-pull theories. Generally, these consist of a compilation of eco- nomic, social, and political factors deemed to force individuals to leave their native region or country and of a similar list of factors impelling them toward another. This approach is employed mutatis mutandis to explain movements other than physical-labor migrations. Thus, refu- gee flows are frequently contrasted with labor migrations by noting the greater importance of “push†factors in the former.1 Students of profes- sional emigration have compiled polar lists of incentives, often termed differentials of advantage, to explain the causes of the brain drain from certain countries.2

As a child, Erik Salomonsen had many questions but few answers about his biological father. He knew who his mother was—a beautiful Jewish Dane whose family tried hard to appear Danish rather than Jewish. But who was his father?Born into a single-parent family, the young boy held three separate beliefs regarding his origins. At first, he believed that his mother’s husband, a physician named Theodor Homburger, was his biological father. However, as Erik matured, he began to realize that this was incorrect because his blond hair and blue eyes did not match the dark features of either parent. He pressed his mother for an explanation, but she lied to him and said that a man named Valdemar Salomonsen—her first husband—was his biological father and that he abandoned her after she became pregnant with Erik. However, Erik didn’t quite believe this second story either because he learned that Salomonsen had left his mother 4 years before Erik was born. Finally, Erik chose to believe that he was the outcome of a sexual liaison between his mother and an artistically gifted aristocratic Dane. For nearly the remainder of his life, Erik believed this third story. Nevertheless, he continued to search for his own identity while seeking the name of his biological father.During his school days, Erik’s Scandinavian features contributed to his identity confusion. When he attended temple, his blue eyes and blond hair made him appear to be an outsider. At public school, his Aryan classmates referred to him as a Jew, so Erik felt out of place in both arenas. Throughout his life, he had difficulty accepting himself as either a Jew or a Gentile.When his mother died, Erik, then 58 years old, feared he would never know the identity of his biological father. But he persevered in his search. Finally, more than 30 years later and as his mind and body began to deteriorate, Erik lost interest in learning his father’s name. However, he continued to show some identity confusion. For example, he spoke mostly in German—the language of his youth—and rarely spoke in English, his primary language for more than 60 years. In addition, he retained a long-held affinity for Denmark and the Danish people and took perverted pride in displaying the flag of Denmark, a country in which he never lived.Overview of Post-Freudian TheoryThe person we introduced in the opening vignette, of course, was Erik Erikson, the person who coined the term identity crisis. Erikson had no college degree of any kind, but this lack of formal training did not prevent him from gaining world fame in an impressive variety of fields including psychoanalysis, anthropology, psychohistory, and education.Unlike earlier psychodynamic theorists who severed nearly all ties to Freudian psychoanalysis, Erikson intended his theory of personality to extend rather than repudiate Freud’s assumptions and to offer a new “way of looking at things†(Erikson, 1963, p. 403). - 1. Microaggressions create an environment of marginalization, exclusion, and disrespect, leading to anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. They can further create an environment of distrust, fear, and hostility which can impede communication and collaboration between individuals. For example, Alex and Coach depict how a series of microaggressions can lead to alienation, frustration, and a lack of self-esteem (Walden University, 2021). The video highlights how microaggressions can lead to feeling misunderstood and lacking belonging (Walden University, 2021). As a social worker, I would respond by listening to their stories, validating their feelings, and offering support. I would help the student identify strategies to cope with the microaggressions they are experiencing, such as utilizing self-care activities, connecting with a support system, and seeking counseling. In the video, I demonstrated several practice skills, such as active listening, empathy, a non-judgmental attitude, and cultural humility. I used reflective listening to demonstrate my understanding of the student's experiences and feelings. The potential impacts of ethnic and racial microaggressions on adolescent psychological development can be far-reaching and long-lasting (Walden University, 2021). Such experiences can create shame, guilt, and anger, leading to depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. They can lead to feelings of isolation and marginalization, leading to an increased risk of engaging in high- risk behaviors such as substance use. Additionally, microaggressions can leave adolescents feeling disconnected from their cultural and racial identities, resulting in a lack of cultural competency and pride. As a social worker, I would create an open dialogue where the student can share their experiences and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental space. This would allow the student to gain insight into their feelings and help to create an action plan to address the negative impacts of microaggressions (Walden University, 2021). A key part of this process would be to utilize the values and ethics of the profession. This includes ensuring the student's rights to self- determination, confidentiality, and respect. Additionally, I would provide the student with resources and tools to help them effectively manage and cope with the negative impacts of microaggressions. Respond to two colleagues by providing constructive feedback on their choice of methodological approach. Would a different approach be more appropriate or effective in answering the research question? Why or why not?
