We celebrate Christmas on December 25th. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, known as the Novena of Christmas, people traditionally sing carols and prepare by decorating their homes with Christmas trees and nativity scenes. On Christmas people exchange gifts, have a big party, and say "Merry Christmas" at midnight to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

2. When is it?
We celebrate Christmas on December 25th,
but we prepare with the Novena of
Christmas. In the Novena of Christmas we
are accustomed to sing’s carols and in
December 25th we give gifts and make a big
party and at midnight we all say "Merry
Christmas“.

3. What does it celebrate?
It celebrates the birth of Lord Jesus. In the
Novena of Christmas we are customary to
sing carols. It is a time to share with family
and children.

4. How do people celebrate?
It’s a religious tradition, people usually pray the
novena in family. The houses are decorated with
Christmas atmosphere and is build the stable and the
Christmas’ tree. The children are very happy on that
time of the year. People also usually go to church and
have a party, where family
and friends meet around this
party. The food and gifts are
very common on that time of
year.

5. Do they eat any special foods?
People usually prepare a lot of food at home. Usually,
the people prepare donuts with custard. After the
Novena of Christmas that people do everyday, people
share a meal or some sweets with their friends or
neighbors.
