component of our society in this day and age
◦ We have devices and gadgets that can
perform almost any function we can think of
◦ If it doesn’t exist, it will soon!
◦ We all know about the groundbreaking
technology out there, but do we ever
question how it will change society as it
develops?

◦ While technology is an exciting concept, there are side effects that we don’t take into account
◦ Business Insider published an article in 2019 titled, “9 subtle ways technology is making humanity worse”

◦ Eyesight strain
◦ Insomnia
◦ Addictive
◦ Promotes sedentary lifestyles
◦ Can be bad for mental health
◦ Relationships suffer
◦ Young people are losing face-to-face interaction ability
◦ Less self-sufficient
This is from a small fluff article that
talks about some of the negatives of
technology on humanity, and I see a
lot of articles like this through a quick
google search. The whole point of this
slide show is to illustrate the bigger
picture of what our society is moving
towards.

◦ A few of the graded videos that was posted really
stuck with me. The video on education predictions in
2060 and what future jobs will look like.
◦ They both have a super common theme, which is, what
does the future look like with technology.
◦ At the base of what our technological future has to
offer is the integration of various technologies in our
educational systems.
◦ We’ve already seen Ipads and phones make there way
into the classroom, but what other technological options
await the world of learning?

5. What Classrooms Could Look Like?
◦ In the 2060 education predictions video, the author talks about
how as technology integrates into classrooms, there will be less
of a traditional classroom structure.
◦ Shifting from traditional lecture halls with a single teacher, to rooms
containing more students who are moreover self-directed with
multiple teachers lending various insights.
◦ Education will shift from curriculum style learning to
achievement based learning.
◦ Students wont necessarily have to sit around and listen to a lecture,
they’ll be able to research and learn at their own pace what
fascinates them.

7. How Will the Job Market Change?
◦ Onto the next step of society changing through the
integration of developing technology.
◦ Less and less jobs are needed to be run by
humans,
◦ In the video about what future jobs will looks
like, the speaker alludes to a future where most
physical labor will be automated in some way.
◦ In the 2060 predictions video, the speaker also
predicted a shift from physical labor to mental
and creative labor.
◦ Our future could possibly be one of technological
operation that leaves humans to pursue creative,
innovative and mental nourishing work.

8. A New Focus
◦ Without the need for mundane duties that deal with
the maintenance and operation of our world, humans
would be born into a world where a new focus could
be attained.
◦ Humans would be free to pursue whatever craft they
wanted
◦ No need for trading money for satisfaction
◦ No need for burning yourself out at jobs we despise
◦ No need for doing anything that doesn’t bring you
happiness and pleasure.
◦ With the ability to aim at any target we want, we
could step into a whole new world full of creatives
and artists of an unlimited variety.
