Why parents scold children?
What is Scolding?
 Scolding means using strong or unhappy words to correct something someone did wrong. It's
when an adult speaks firmly or with disapproval to guide someone towards better behavior.
Why Parents Scold?
 "Parents scold because they care about their children. They want them to learn and do better. Just
like teachers teach in school to help students learn, parents scold to guide their children in making
good choices. They use serious words because they want their kids to understand what's right and
wrong. It's like giving advice to help their children grow up and be the best they can be."
How It Makes You Feel?
 When someone is scolded, they might feel sad, upset, or even a little bit hurt. It's natural to have
these feelings because it's not a nice experience when someone is upset with us or when we know
we did something wrong. Feeling sad or upset after being scolded is okay; it's our way of showing
that we care about doing the right thing and that we're learning from the experience. It's important
to remember that even though these feelings can be tough, they can help us understand how to do
better next time.
What to Do When Scolded?
Tips for reacting positively:
 Stay calm and listen.
 Say sorry if you did something wrong.
 Don’t argue, but explain calmly if misunderstood.
 Take a deep breath to feel better.
Talking to Parents
 It's important to calmly discuss feelings after being scolded because talking about how you feel can
help make things better. When you talk to your parents or the person who scolded you, it shows
them that you care about what happened and that you want to do better. Calmly discussing your
feelings helps both you and the person who scolded you understand each other better. It can also
prevent misunderstandings and help find ways to improve things in the future. Remember, it's okay
to share how you feel, and it's a good way to learn from the experience and make things right.
Making Things Better
Discuss ways to improve:
 Learn from mistakes.
 Try not to repeat the same behavior.
 Show better behavior to make parents happy.
It's Okay to Feel Upset
 Feeling upset after being scolded is completely normal. When someone scolds us, it can make us
feel sad, upset, or even a little bit down. It's important to know that these feelings are okay and that
everyone feels this way sometimes. Being scolded doesn't mean that you're bad; it just means that
there's something to learn from the situation. Feeling upset is a way of showing that you care and
that you want to do better. It's okay to feel this way, and it's a chance to learn from the experience
and grow.
