I feel the individual rights of the parents who made a conscious decision not to vaccinate their child should not be persecuted. Parents are hesitant to vaccinate because religious beliefs are usually linked to the refusal of all vaccines or personal beliefs. Some parents believe natural immunity is better and more effective than immunity acquired from vaccinations. Safety concerns are the most significant reason parents are hesitant and refusing to vaccinate their children, especially with the known link between vaccines and autism. The desire for additional information causes hesitancy and refusal because parents feel more in-depth information about the vaccines should be accessible to review, enabling them to make better-informed decisions (Akoum, 2019).

The Annenberg Public Policy Center issued the following news release:
People who rely on social media for information were more likely to be misinformed about vaccines than those
who rely on traditional media, according to a study of vaccine knowledge and media use by researchers at the
Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.
The study, based on nationally representative surveys of nearly 2,500 U.S. adults, found that up to 20% of
respondents were at least somewhat misinformed about vaccines. Such a high level of misinformation is
"worrying" because misinformation undermines vaccination rates, and high vaccination rates are required to
maintain community immunity, the researchers said.
The study of vaccine misinformation, published in the Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review, was
conducted in the spring and fall of 2019, when the United States experienced its largest measles outbreak in a
quarter century. Between the two survey periods, 19% of the respondents' levels of vaccine misinformation
changed in a substantive way - and within that group, almost two-thirds (64%) were more misinformed in the fall
than in the spring.
Media consumption patterns helped to explain the change in misinformation levels, the researchers found. Those
respondents who reported increased exposure to information about measles and the MMR (measles, mumps, and
rubella) vaccine on social media were more likely to grow more misinformed about vaccines. By contrast, those
people who reported an increased exposure to news accounts about those topics in traditional media were more
likely to grow less misinformed about vaccines.
"People who received their information from traditional media were less likely to endorse common anti-vaccination
claims," said lead author Dominik Stecula, a postdoctoral fellow in the science of science communication program
at the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC). He co-authored the study with Ozan Kuru, another APPC
postdoctoral fellow, and APPC Director Kathleen Hall Jamieson.
The result is consistent with research suggesting that social media contain a fair amount of misinformation about
vaccination while traditional media are more likely to reflect the scientific consensus on its benefits and safety,
according to the Annenberg researchers.
'Worrying' levels of vaccine misinformation
The researchers found that:

Smallpox was one of the deadliest diseases of the 20th century. In America, smallpox spread among the population at a very fast rate and killed over 50% of all those who contracted it. It was estimated that over 300 million people across the world. The spread of the disease was witnessed more during and after the First World War. Inoculated vaccinations, the smallpox was introduced by Jenner Edwards. There are countless other diseases that have vaccines which protect people from contracting diseases. Development of vaccines was a game changer in the field of medicine. Instead, searching for cures of diseases, focus on vaccines prevents the spread of disease which eventually eradicates the disease from the face of the earth as was the case with smallpox (De Soto, 23). Mandatory vaccination has been a debatable topic for years, due to the loss of lives caused by diseases whose vaccines are available. Thesis: Mandatory vaccination should be implemented in the United States to help eradicate diseases whose vaccines are available as well as save the lives of children from deadly diseases.
From a historical perspective, the debate on making vaccinations mandatory has been in existence for centuries. There are numerous societies that have a negative opinion on vaccinations, while an even larger group of people are ignorant of the significance of vaccinations. The eradication of smallpox, a deadly disease in the 20th century is living proof of the significance of vaccination to the general of all people in the United States (Netzley, 21). Some of the reasons for the resistance to vaccination apart from ignorance is the lack of basic education on facts about vaccines. There are numerous misconceptions help by different groups of people especially those with religious affiliations that don’t believe in modern medicine. However, the general public needs to understand the significance of vaccination through campaigns by the healthcare department.
The debate on mandatory vaccination is aimed at eradicating diseases that spread and caused death among the people. With mandatory vaccination, the health department is able to deal with diseases that have vaccines and protect generations to come from the effects of such disease. The aspects that prevent the implementation of mandatory vaccination in the united states is the existence of civil rights that needs to be upheld by the government at all cost. We Analyzed 1 Million Articles about Covid Vaccines. Here’s What We Found!
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.
Ever since The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Coronavirus outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020, and a pandemic on 11 March 2020, scientists from all over the world have been scrambling to create a vaccine.
During this period, vaccine development was expedited and scientists faced various challenges in creating a working vaccine.
The urgency to create a vaccine led to “compressed schedules” where trials for vaccines, which usually take years, were conducted over a period of months.
Since then, Several vaccines have been approved for mass vaccination drives against COVID-19 and have been distributed globally.
However, the community’s knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions towards these vaccinations are poorly understood.
We analyzed 1M articles that contained the mentions of various vaccines and here’s what we found.
✔✔ Conversations about Pfizer have received more engagement on Twitter as Pfizer has shown the highest efficacy rate of 95%.
✔✔ Moderna has an efficacy of 94.1% against covid infection and the engagement shows that articles that mention Moderna had lesser engagement than Pfizer but considerably more than other vaccines.
✔✔ AstraZeneca ranks third when it comes to Twitter engagement among popular vaccines.
✔✔ Russia’s Sputnik vaccine claims a 95% efficacy rate, even before beginning a Phase III trial. But conversations and engagement on Twitter have been minimal.
✔✔ Covaxin and Novavax have had some conversations and mentions on Twitter, unlike Janssen, a vaccine that has had the least engagement.

Safety concerns are the most significant reason parents are hesitant and refusing to vaccinate their children, especially with the known link between vaccines and autism. People who rely on social media for information were more likely to be misinformed about vaccines than those
who rely on traditional media, according to a study of vaccine knowledge and media use by researchers at the
Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.
The study, based on nationally representative surveys of nearly 2,500 U.S. adults, found that up to 20% of
respondents were at least somewhat misinformed about vaccines. Such a high level of misinformation is
"worrying" because misinformation undermines vaccination rates, and high vaccination rates are required to
maintain community immunity, the researchers said.
The study of vaccine misinformation, published in the Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review, was
conducted in the spring and fall of 2019, when the United States experienced its largest measles outbreak in a
quarter century. Between the two survey periods, 19% of the respondents' levels of vaccine misinformation
changed in a substantive way - and within that group, almost two-thirds (64%) were more misinformed in the fall
than in the spring.
Media consumption patterns helped to explain the change in misinformation levels, the researchers found. Those
respondents who reported increased exposure to information about measles and the MMR (measles, mumps, and
rubella) vaccine on social media were more likely to grow more misinformed about vaccines. By contrast, those
people who reported an increased exposure to news accounts about those topics in traditional media were more
likely to grow less misinformed about vaccines.
"People who received their information from traditional media were less likely to endorse common anti-vaccination
claims," said lead author Dominik Stecula, a postdoctoral fellow in the science of science communication program
at the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC). He co-authored the study with Ozan Kuru, another APPC
postdoctoral fellow, and APPC Director Kathleen Hall Jamieson.
The result is consistent with research suggesting that social media contain a fair amount of misinformation about
vaccination while traditional media are more likely to reflect the scientific consensus on its benefits and safety,

Smallpox was one of the deadliest diseases of the 20th century. In America, smallpox spread among the population at a very fast rate and killed over 50% of all those who contracted it. It was estimated that over 300 million people across the world. The spread of the disease was witnessed more during and after the First World War. Inoculated vaccinations, the smallpox was introduced by Jenner Edwards. There are countless other diseases that have vaccines which protect people from contracting diseases. Development of vaccines was a game changer in the field of medicine. Instead, searching for cures of diseases, focus on vaccines prevents the spread of disease which eventually eradicates the disease from the face of the earth as was the case with smallpox (De Soto, 23). Mandatory vaccination has been a debatable topic for years, due to the loss of lives caused by diseases whose vaccines are available. Thesis: Mandatory vaccination should be implemented in the United States to help eradicate diseases whose vaccines are available as well as save the lives of children from deadly diseases.
From a historical perspective, the debate on making vaccinations mandatory has been in existence for centuries. There are numerous societies that have a negative opinion on vaccinations, while an even larger group of people are ignorant of the significance of vaccinations. The eradication of smallpox, a deadly disease in the 20th century is living proof of the significance of vaccination to the general of all people in the United States (Netzley, 21). Some of the reasons for the resistance to vaccination apart from ignorance is the lack of basic education on facts about vaccines. There are numerous misconceptions help by different groups of people especially those with religious affiliations that don’t believe in modern medicine. However, the general public needs to understand the significance of vaccination through campaigns by the healthcare department.

The student took photos on their phone or camera and used Photoshop and the website PicMonkey to edit photos, though PicMonkey sometimes led to pixelated images. Other technologies used included Blogger to present research, Wordle to compile genres in one document, and Slideshare to create bullet point presentations with backgrounds and animation, though it risked losing detail or having long blocks of text.

- 3. The petition was boosted following a campaign by the family of two-year-old Faye Burdett, from Maidstone, who died on Valentine's Day. It was started by Lee Booth, 44, from Gateshead, after one of his daughters was deemed too old for the vaccine. The petitions committee has yet to schedule a date for the debate. Most signed It said it would like the House of Commons to have the chance to hear from some of the families who have been affected by meningitis B, as well as from relevant medical experts, first. The petition, which is now the most-signed online petition in parliamentary history, calls for the vaccination of all children up to at least the age of 11. A vaccine to protect against meningitis B is available on the NHS for babies aged two months, followed by a second dose at four months and a booster at 12 months. Parents who wish to have older children vaccinated must pay privately, but there is a worldwide shortage of the vaccine and stocks are low. Faye Burdett died after an 11-day battle with the infection. Her parents, Jenny and Neil, shared a picture of her covered in a rash and lying in a hospital bed to raise awareness of the disease.

Mason died within 24 hours of telling his mother he had felt ill in 2013. He had the viral meningitis vaccination, but contracted the bacterial form of the disease.

More connectivity with better WiFi and it being more available for free (Shops etc.) as well as having more access to signals (3+4g) which allows further contact to social media so a wide variety of people are able to read and see this petition and create a debate around it. It is easier for people to donate and create support for petitions now as they know and understand how to do that. From this petition if it succeeds, there will be an advantage for others.
