2. Introduction & Purpose
• In the start of 2020, a major group of people argued that COVID-19 is man-made disease so
that some countries can take the control of the whole world.
• The purpose of the study was to discuss the conspiracy theories linked to COVID-19
vaccination and their consequences on the world population health.
• When the first few vaccinations caused some minor side-effects like fever and flue then
more people started trusting on the misbeliefs.
• Several beliefs were found among the population which includes:
Population Control Method
Pharmaceutical companies making propaganda to generate more profits
Bill Gates implanting microchips into people
Economy destruction of rebel countries by lockdown
Control over poor countries
3. Major Critiques & Recommendations
• Main source of misinformation was social media as 72% of Americans and 83% of Europeans
using the Internet as a source for health information.
• Lack of trust in government and organization make people believe in misinformation.
• Age and education have the most robust associations with willingness for vaccination.
• In order to overcome these misconceptions:
Trust in science and health organizations
Study on how individuals formulate judgments about COVID-19
Education related to healthcare
Transparent and rapid social media platforms
• To summarize this debate, if we want to achieve a high level of vaccinations then the
governments should provide regulated platforms to fill up the gaps and remove the
misinformation.
