Using Bronfenbrennerâs ecological theory of human development as the framework, this study explores how the ecological context of student teachers affect their belief development during the teaching practicum. Findings reveal that during the teaching practicum, student teachers interacted directly or indirectly with their ecological environments, including students, parents, mentors, supervisors, school policies, culture and social trends, which led them to develop, confirm, integrate, discard, or modify their beliefs. Findings also reveal that ecological environments may not only encourage but also impede student teachersâ belief development depending on what kind of influences they exert on them. Lastly, findings suggest that although macrosystem locates the most distant in student teachersâ ecological environments, factors within it may exert a huge influence on other environments and thus have a huge impact on student teachers. Based on the above findings, this study calls upon more opportunities for student teachers to participate in real-world professional practice so that they can put their beliefs to test. More training is also needed for mentors and supervisors to support student teachersâ belief development.
Modular approach in teaching has been a buzzword in our educational system. This paper ascertained the effectiveness of Modular Teaching Approach in teaching Grade 10 Science at Maximino Noel Memorial National High School. Quasi experimental and Purposive sampling was utilized. Data were collected through pre test and post test using the learning module in Science 10 prescribed by the Department of Education. Data obtain using frequency count, percentage, mean and standard deviation and t test for the significant difference. Results revealed that the performance of the Grade 10 students during the pre test in the following competencies describing the distribution of active volcanoes, earthquake epicenters, and major mountain belts distinguishing the different types of plate boundaries and explaining the different processes that occur along the plate boundaries, was described as Beginning. However, after using the Modular Teaching Approach, the post test performance of the students on the aforementioned competencies increased significantly and was described as Proficient. This indicated that the approach evidently showed positive results and displayed a vital connection in increasing studentsĂąâŹâą academic achievement. Thus, enhanced learning module was proposed as instructional intervention in improving studentsĂąâŹâą performance in Science 10. Marsha R. Strategies for Enhancing Teaching of Food and Nutrition in Mutare Urban Secon...iosrjce
Â
The study was carried out in an effort to come up with strategies for enhancing the teaching of Food
and Nutrition (FN) at secondary level, in Mutare urban, Manicaland Province. It assessed the most common
teaching methodologies used by FN teachers. The target population was derived from ten urban secondary
schools offering FN, with an average of 4 teachers per school, thereby giving a total population of 40 teachers.
Out of this population, a sample of 15 teachers was purposively extracted, with teachers from every location to
make generalizations more meaningful and realistic .The main instrument used in the study was the
questionnaire which sought to solicit information from teachers using both open and close ended questions. The
descriptive survey research was employed and both the two research paradigms (qualitative and quantitative)
were use. The major findings revealed that most teachers were qualified and knew the methods appropriate for
the teaching of Food and Nutrition. However, the major challenge was unavailability of resources, such as
ingredients for practicals as well as lack of improvisation by the teacher. Thus, marrying practice with theory
was a challenge for most pupils. It was recommended that school administrators fully furnish FN laboratories
for learning to be real for pupils. Teachers were also encouraged to avoid pupil boredom by using a variety of
teaching methodologies rather than sticking to one or two only and to improvise as much as they possibly can.
Learning Environment In Early Childhood Education Centers Of Lahoreiosrjce
Â
In Pakistan, the focus of educators and policy makers has been primarily limited to curricular
planning and policy making, with little or no attention given to the worldwide changing trend in early childhood
education; the construction of a stimulating learning environment, and its subsequent influence on the
performance of a child. The present study was aimed at assessing the quality of the offered learning
environment in private early childhood education centers of Lahore, with the globally accepted tool for quality
assessment of classroom environments, the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised (ECERS-R). A
non-probability convenience sampling method was used, primarily due to willingness to participate of private
institutes offering early childhood education services for children aged between 3-5 years. From the findings it
was concluded that while there is a varying range in quality of available learning environments, an overall low
quality is under practice by majority schools. In the light of these findings, implications for further research to
stress the overwhelming impact of learning environments on child performance are discussed, along with the
need for policy makers and educators to re-think and re-design the current curriculum and practices of early
childhood education accordingly
The study contributes to the on-going debate regarding the significance of early childhood teachersâ instructional decision-making that take into consideration their theoretical knowledge (explicit theories) and practical experiences (implicit theories) and how they impact their instructional decision-making processes in diverse socio-cultural contexts of children. To address this gap in the literature, a qualitative multi-case study into the perceptions and classroom practices of four kindergarten teachers in two Ghanaian schools, Tata and Kariba, was carried out over a six-month period. One research question that sought to explore factors and beliefs influencing teachersâ instructional decision-making in a kindergarten classroom guided the study. Data sources used were semi-structured individual interviews and pair-based interviews and fieldnotes of classroom observations. Both within and across case interpretative analysis, as outlined. The studyâs findings revealed that these teachersâ explicit theories and implicit theories of teaching influenced their instructional decision-making processes in kinder garten classrooms.
THE EFFECTS OF AUTHENTIC PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES ON STUDENTSâ EDUCATIONAL PERFO...Dr.Nasir Ahmad
Â
In-practice traditional lecture, discussion and assignments based pedagogical practices play its role in studentsâ learning and retention power. The current study intends to investigate whether authentic pedagogical practices are more effective in terms of enhancing studentsâ educational performances and retention power or the traditional pedagogical practices. Therefore, this study focused on investigating the effects of authentic and traditional pedagogical practices on studentsâ educational performances and retention power at secondary level. The objective was to measure the effects of authentic and traditional pedagogical practices on studentsâ educational performances and retention power. A pre-test post-test comparative group design was adopted to conduct the study. The students of experimental group were exposed to authentic pedagogical practices while the control group was treated on traditional routine pedagogical practices. Data from the experimental and control group were collected through a self-developed test. Thrice was the test administered to both groups, the collected data were analyzed through Mean, Standard Deviation and independent sample t-test. Results of the study concludes that students of experimental group performed higher on the post-test than the students of control group, the performance of experimental group was also better as

Critical thinking is the focal point missed in many studentsâ education. Learning to ask appropriate questions and deduce information in order to build a deeper connection to the information is imperative. This paper discusses alternative masterâs preservice teachersâ use of action research to serve as a guide during a 16-week clinical experience. Semi-structured interviews and reflection papers were conducted to create a comparative case study that analyzed the clinical experiences.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as âdistorted thinkingâ.

ABSTRACT
Author Melody Ann Wilson introduces her Theoretical Framework Model: The
Effectiveness of Pre-Kindergarten Montessori Programs on Preparedness of
Children for Kindergarten. The framework emphasizes the connectedness and the
effectiveness of preparing children for the challenges of kindergarten.
Introduction
The Montessori Method requires that children learn directly from the environment
and from other children, rather than from the teacher (International Montessori Index,
2007). âMontessori is about taking what is best for the child and making it available in
the environment in a way that promotes the optimal development of each childâs
potentialâ (The Montessori Approach to Education, 2007).
