Mei Tang, Pharm.D., MBA, has comprehensive managed care, PBM, and specialty pharmacy experience. She held
various positions in fortune 500 companies as well as private and startup pharmacy companies. Ms. Tang currently
works as President at Two Trees Healthcare Consulting where she is responsible to help pharmacy companies grow
and succeed. She provides client assistance in profitability, operational efficiency, accreditation (URAC and ACHC),
license and permit application, pharmacy startup, policy and procedure development, project management,
business development, network strategies, infrastructure build out, system implementation, compliance and staff
training and development.
Prior to starting her own consulting business, Ms. Tang served as Vice President of Operations at ModernHEALTH
Specialty Pharmacy and was responsible for specialty pharmacy operations, and patient care/call center
management.
Ms. Tang worked as Director of Pharmacy at OptumRx from 2009 to 2011. She was responsible for the development
of prescription drug formularies and DUR programs for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare clients, and the
development of clinical pharmacy programs. She served as Director of Formulary Management at MedImpact
responsible for the development, submission and maintenance of Medicare Part D and Medicaid formularies. She
also worked at Director of Pharmacy at WellPoint NextRx from 2003 to 2009. She was responsible for formulary and
DUR drug list development and maintenance, building formulary maintenance system, and supporting P&T. Her
previous experiences also include drug data management at First DataBank, pharmacy network management at Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, hospital and retail pharmacies.
Ms. Tang is a member of the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy and American Pharmacists Association.
A graduate of the Wayne State University College of Pharmacy, Ms. Tang earned her Pharm.D. degree from the
University of Colorado and her MBA degree from University of California, Irvine.
Ms. Tang lives with her two children in Southern California. She enjoys travel, reading, sports and the outdoors.
