Kea DHCP – the new open source DHCP server from ISCMen and Mice
This webinar will highlight the differences between the old ISC DHCP and new Kea DHCP (database support, dynamic reconfiguration, performance wins, scripting hooks) and will showcase the Men & Mice Suite as a graphical front-end to both ISC DHCP and Kea to ease the migration.
Trivadis TechEvent 2017 With the CLI through the Oracle Cloud Martin BergerTrivadis
Altough the Oracle Cloud Webinterface development for the Iaas/Dbaas cloud is going forward, working with in the webinterface for the Oracle Cloud products is a mess, slow and sometimes angry. But, for every cloud service like Database as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service and Oracle Backup Service, there is a command line tool available. I give you an overview about the existing tools, a lot of demos will show you live what you can do with these nice and handy tools. Forget the web interface - we use the CLI :-)
A webinar that looks into the new features that the Windows Server 2016 will offer in the DNS, DHCP and IPv6 space.
Showcase of some of the new stuff using the latest tech preview and the aim is to give administrators a quick overview of the Windows Server 2016 and enough information to decide if early adoption is worthwhile.
Yeti-DNS is an international research project with the purpose of testing new technologies and procedures in running the Internet root zone. The project runs tests on DNSSEC key rollovers in the root, as well as experimenting with new ways to manage the DNSSEC keys (multiple zone signing keys).
An interview with Shane Kerr, a coordinator for the Yeti-DNS project, forms part of this webinar. The interview sheds light on the technical and political aspects of the project and introduces the latest results from experiments.
The webinar also includes a tutorial on how to use the Yeti-DNS root name servers to configure a BIND 9 DNS resolver in order to take part in the project.

The presentation will be focused on dealing with an unexpected high traffic event as it is happening. We will address the impact a traffic spike can have on your database – from poor query response time to replication lag issues – and provide actionable tips and tricks. We will talk about how to bring your database under control, earn performance gains, and delight your customers.
Logging is important for troubleshooting a DNS service. Conveniently with BIND 9, almost all problems will show up somewhere in the log output, but only if the logging is enabled and configured correctly.
In this webinar, we’ll discuss the BIND 9 logging configuration and best practices in searching through large log-files to find the entries of interest. In addition, we’ll release log-management tools used by Men & Mice Services.

Tungsten University: MySQL Multi-Master Operations Made Simple With Tungsten ...Continuent
Deployment of MySQL multi-master topologies with Tungsten Replicator has been constantly improving. Yet, earlier there were some heavy operations to sustain, and unfriendly commands to perform. The latest version of Tungsten Replicator delivers all the topologies of its predecessors, with an improved installation tool that cuts down the deployment time to half in simple topologies, and to 1/10th in complex ones. Now you can install master/slave, multi-master, fan-in, and star topologies in less than a minute.
But there is more. Thanks to a versatile Tungsten Replicator installation tool, you can define your own deployment on-the-fly, and get creative: you can have stars with satellites, all-masters with fan-in slaves, and other customized clusters.
We will also cover other enhancements in Tungsten Replicator 2.1.1, such as full integration with MySQL 5.6, enhanced output from administrative tools, a few more goodies.

What science knows about happiness - OpenStack Summit - Austin April 2016Alexis Monville
WHAT SCIENCE KNOWS ABOUT HAPPINESS THAT COULD TRANSFORM OPENSTACK is a talk by Alexis Monville given on April 26, 2016 at the OpenStack Summit in Austin.
Openstack Summit - Vancouver - DON’T CHANGE MY MINDSET, I AM NOT THAT OPENAlexis Monville
Talk given with Nick Barcet during the 2015 Vancouver Openstack Summit.
If you are reading this abstract, you probably agree that Cloud technologies in general, and Openstack in particular, are a wonderful enabler of businesses transformation.
At the same time you may have crossed the way of people who seemed stuck in an old way of thinking the use of technologies. They will tell you that what you propose will not work in real life… Probably because, it’s too far away from where they stand right now.
The culture and organization change is often underestimated and touches all the areas from business to ops. Before your organization will be able to consider infrastructure as code, cross-functional teams that are in charge from design to production or zero-touch continuous deployment, there are steps to climb one at a time.
In this session, we will share what we learned from real cases openstack projects:
How to stage your transformation?
How to present information depending on who you are talking to?
How to generate quick wins to keep the enthusiasm momentum?
This presentation was shown at the OpenStack Online Meetup session on August 28, 2014. It is an update to the 2013 sessions, and adds content on Services Plugin, Modular plugins, as well as an Outlook to some Juno features like DVR, HA and IPv6 Support
Agile tour bordeaux 1500 développeurs dans mon équipeAlexis Monville
Résumé :
En apprendre plus sur le développement de produit en mode agile au contact d'un grand projet open source !
Description :
SaltConf14 - Yazz Atlas, HP Cloud - Installing OpenStack using SaltStackSaltStack
OpenStack is an open source implementation of cloud computing, potentially at very large scale. However, it has many moving parts and is complex to operate. SaltStack appears to provide scalable and secure orchestration for OpenStack. But like all powerful solutions to complex problems, a great deal of the useful know-how has to be discovered by actual practice and hard-won experience. This session will share the inside knowledge gained through practical experience.

With more than 140 million users, KakaoTalk is the most popular mobile messaging platform in South Korea. The team at daumkakao has been using OpenStack with the intention for tranforming the current legacy infrastructure into scale out based cloud to build and offer new services for its users. In this session, we'd like to share our experiences with the OpenStack community, specifically in regards to meeting our needs for networking with Neutron.OpenStack Neutron offers a lot of methods to implement networking for VMs and containers. For production operations, VM migration can be a common activity to manage resources and improve uptime. It's not hard using shared storage like Ceph, but network settings, such as IP addresses need to be preserved. With a shared storage environment, an image can be attached anywhere inside of a data center, but a service IP for a virtual machine is different story. And when you don't use the floating IPs, keeping the same IP across a data center-wide set of VLANs is hard job.To maintain a virtual machine's IP settings and balance IPs between VLANS, we tried several options including overlay, SDN, and NFV technologies. In the end we came to use a route-only network for our virtual machine networks, leveraging technology like Quagga for RIP, OSPF BGP integrated with Neutron.
In his previous talk, Paul talked about getting your system to work with SELinux. This involved setting the security on your files and directories so that they worked with SELinux. However, many people have customised their Linux installs and want SELinux to do what they say, not the other way around. Sysadmins in particular are not 'run of the mill' users, and they have different requirements to what typically comes out of the box. Situations such as serving web pages from NFS shares or non-standard directories, or installing applications in custom locations, need specialised configuration of SELinux in order to make it work with your needs.
This talk will deal with those situations. Fortunately for Sysadmins, much of the work in developing SELinux policies for Linux has focussed on their requirements. Paul will show you a few of the things behind
the scenes that make your job as a Sysadmin much easier and safer with SELinux.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
