   Term 3: Change: Science- OUR CHANGING WORLD(PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT)
   Term 4: Change : Technology: FUTURE TRENDS (LIFESTYLE)
   Health: Term 1 Brainy bunch
   Health: Term 2 Understanding Change
   School wide assessments 2-3 times a year- Probe reading / Number Knowledge
    tests IKAN/ Gloss Maths – 2 times a year / Personal Experience Writing –three times

Gate / Reading & Math's Interventions

   These will be happening this year- Math’s intervention started week 2.
   Gate programme started Week 3.
   Parents will be notified when their children have been selected for these
    programmes.

   Zero tolerance to violence- Sent straight to management
Homework

   Spelling 5/10min- 4 days a week. We do not have set spelling activities. However
    students are encouraged to use a variety of ways to best learn their words for the
    week. They need to show evidence of their learning. This could be in the form of
    a parent comment stating that they tested their child on their spelling words.


   Reading 15min-5 days a week minimum. While we would like to see
     comments written in everyday it is compulsory for the children to
     comment on their reading in their logs 5 times per week.
   Maths 10min - 4 days a week. Those on the Kohi scheme are required to do 4
    nights on their Kohi Maths sheets. Other students will have the opportunity to do 4
    nights of Maths/Science homework. Lists they are challenged with. Study ladder.

Communication / Parent involvement

   When it’s a good time to meet- after school is usually best
    (Wednesdays/Thursdays)
   Class blog-Friday
    Newsletters (Tuesdays) / email mainly for information / major issues to be
    sorted by phone or in person
   School works on a policy of ‘no surprises’ so parents will be told early if there
    are any concerns with behaviour or learning.

   Being onto time to school is really important otherwise marked Late on the
    electronic roll
   Please remember to the inform office when going away so it can be signed off
    by the Principal so the absentee is recorded correctly
   If you are going away on holiday please send me/Diane Manners a
    email/Letter stating when and where you will be going and for how long.
Other Information

   Uniform- wearing black shoes, P.E gear
   Cell Phones- All student's must have permission from Diane Manners
