Biodegradable Materials module: Students make, test and evaluate biodegradable films and gels. They use their knowledge gained during the workshop to design devices that release a dye in a controlled manner as they degrade. Finally they design their own biodegradable product.
No one can deny that always garbage bags have bad smells. Tthe smell is produced from the degradation of biodegradable materials, i.e. food.
Through this project, it was found that we can eliminate odors that result from garbage, forever, by using natural materials, these are: starch, coal (powder), and sodium bicarbonate. These materials can be added to the manufactured trash bags and baskets that have bad smell. After adding these materials, it worked, and after hours the smell decreased until it almost disappeared.

In my placement at Paul McGarvey Architects I chose a project which I was working on to create a model from. The model was built from foamboard and double-sided tape. The landscape, comprised of foam stilts to create varying ground heights, then cardboard was placed on-top and finished with white plaster. The Medical Practice was my final year project, for my other Conversion and Adaption module. We were tasked, to select, survey and carry out a condition report on a dilapidated building of my choice. The building which I chose was 2 old adjoined barns adjacent to 105 Rossdowney Road, Londonderry BT47 5SU.
