It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ( ‫ﷺ‬) said: “When the believer commits sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents and gives up that sin and seeks forgiveness, his heart will be polished. But if (the sin) increases, (the black spot) increases. That is the Ran that Allah mentions in His Book: “Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.” [Mutaffifin 14] 42
I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be, upon him ) observing: Temptations will be presented to men's hearts as reed mat is woven stick by stick and any heart which is impregnated by them will have a black mark put into it, but any heart which rejects them will have a white mark put in it. O you who believe! Save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is people and stones, guarded by angels who are hard hearted to the infidels and mighty, potent and strong. They never disobey a command given by Allah and they carry out every action they are enjoined to do. (Tahrim 6) ALLAH’S CALL TO YOU & I 47 And guard yourselves from the Day when you are returned to Allah and each soul shall be requited with the commensurate to its deeds, and none shall be wronged. (Baqarah 281)

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ( ‫ﷺ‬) said: “When the believer commits sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents and gives up that sin and seeks forgiveness, his heart will be polished. But if (the sin) increases, (the black spot) increases. That is the Ran that Allah mentions in His Book: “Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.” [Mutaffifin 14] 42

    I heard theMessenger of Allah (may peace be, upon him ) observing: Temptations will be presented to men's hearts as reed mat is woven stick by stick and any heart which is impregnated by them will have a black mark put into it, but any heart which rejects them will have a white mark put in it.
