Media Evaluation  Q4) Who would be the audience for your media product? Our film has a wide range of audiences because the genre we chose for our film is a popular culture today. I think that our product mainly  would appeal to male teenagers/students aged from 16 to 19 years old. They’re still in college and are planning to move further on to university after. They would be favourable to watch our media product as they have probably created a media film as well, so they want to compare etc. The other, less dominant audience instead of teenagers would be examiners looking at students work and maybe family/friends admiring their son’s/daughter’s work. The target audience for our product is teenagers because the content in there is very stereotypical towards them. The reactions of friends and colleagues that have viewed our product thought it was an overall funny film. However the reaction of my friend’s parents where that there was far too much swearing included and it would be a lot better without it. Yes that’s a valid point but stereotypically during a teenage fight isn’t it what exactly you would expect.
Media Evaluation  Q5) How did you attract/address your audience? We attracted our audience by choosing a popular genre for our product that people would like to watch. The storyline of the film was to have three teenagers in a fight in a public forest. However we changed the effect of the film buy adding a comical battle-scene backing track to it and put the film into black & white. This gave the effect of a more powerful scene then just a fight amongst some teenagers. The way we addressed our audience was by creating something we new that would relate to teenagers. A comedy/martial arts film in our opinion would be something that we would find interesting to see. The film included me and my friends Rory & Fred from college.  Only ourselves could really be the cast as it was the only way that we could mainly address our teenage target audience. If we had middle-aged men instead then it wouldn’t appeal to our audience as much as it would have done.

Media Project Evaluation Q$=4 & 5

  • 1. Media Evaluation Q4) Who would be the audience for your media product? Our film has a wide range of audiences because the genre we chose for our film is a popular culture today. I think that our product mainly would appeal to male teenagers/students aged from 16 to 19 years old. They’re still in college and are planning to move further on to university after. They would be favourable to watch our media product as they have probably created a media film as well, so they want to compare etc. The other, less dominant audience instead of teenagers would be examiners looking at students work and maybe family/friends admiring their son’s/daughter’s work. The target audience for our product is teenagers because the content in there is very stereotypical towards them. The reactions of friends and colleagues that have viewed our product thought it was an overall funny film. However the reaction of my friend’s parents where that there was far too much swearing included and it would be a lot better without it. Yes that’s a valid point but stereotypically during a teenage fight isn’t it what exactly you would expect.
  • 2. Media Evaluation Q5) How did you attract/address your audience? We attracted our audience by choosing a popular genre for our product that people would like to watch. The storyline of the film was to have three teenagers in a fight in a public forest. However we changed the effect of the film buy adding a comical battle-scene backing track to it and put the film into black & white. This gave the effect of a more powerful scene then just a fight amongst some teenagers. The way we addressed our audience was by creating something we new that would relate to teenagers. A comedy/martial arts film in our opinion would be something that we would find interesting to see. The film included me and my friends Rory & Fred from college. Only ourselves could really be the cast as it was the only way that we could mainly address our teenage target audience. If we had middle-aged men instead then it wouldn’t appeal to our audience as much as it would have done.
