3. ANALYSIS OF COVER PAGE
Many, if not all conventions of a cover page
apply to this cover, the use of a house style
and colour scheme of yellow and red and fire
make it jump off the shelf and appeal to those
who love the dirty, side of dance music. The
rebellion style of this type of music is clear in
the use of fire and the facial expressions of
the cover star. Puffs and cover line are set in
contrasting colours to stand out. The barcode
and issue information are set aside and do
not detract from the main theme. A
recognisable logo and magazine name sit at
the top of page conventionally as does a very
recognisable name ‘Calvin Harris’ acting as a
motive to buy this issue .
4. ANALYSIS OF CONTENTS PAGE
The contents also follows traditional conventions,
its has a column of page numbers and the
information regarding each page in numerical
order but not page by page (every page). It only
consists of what would be regarded main stories
or interviews. The logo/name of the magazine can
be conventionally seen alongside the word
‘contents’ and the issue date. Unlike most other
contents pages I have studied this one only
seems to have one column and a limited amount
of writing drawing focus towards the main image
in the centre of the page. The image portrays the
target audience in their element, having a good
time, this connotes a laid back nature this type of
music and this magazine can have.
5. ANALYSIS OF
DOUBLE-PAGE SPREAD
Here we see a typical double page
spread in Mixmag. This is a reoccurring
feature article in mix mag that follows a
colour scheme. It has vibrant colours that
shows a happy and lively
theme, representing the target audience.
