Comedy films also take away stress and anger as well as making you feel happy They can also remove the feeling of sadness and loneliness. Not all comedy’s are to everyone’s ‘taste’ so people may not find all comedy funny. People find comedy films unrealistic, either the ending or throughout the film. Comedy can lead to the confusion of people because of the amount of humour in the film. Watching audiences may take the film too seriously and apply the action in the film to real life situations.
- 4. Horror Horror movies can makeyou lose weight because of the horror flicks. Horror movies also give you an adrenaline rush. Horror films are also good for the brain. Horror films also give a better control of reality. Horror movies can scare people and are a good time for hugs… Horror movies can cause emotional problems in young children. They can also cause sleeplessness because of the scariness. Horror movies can also cause anxiety within people of all ages. They can also cause behavioural changes amongst people because of the scenes.

Science Fiction movies tend not to have an age limit and are often made for all ages. This genre of film also help the way in which people see life from race to sexuality. Science Fiction films also relate to the inner child in everyone making them a good family film. The whole concept of the film can come across very unrealistic for some people. Also, they aren't based on scientific facts. The films are in a world of where anything is possible with no limits. Some people find them scary due to the modified and technology that is able to create characters.

Can appeal to both genders as it’s a mixture of popular genres. Gives the audience plenty of talking points after watching the film. Can taking away feeling sadness and make you feel happy. People don’t like the mixture and think that they should be individual. Some people don’t like the genre romance because they find it too ‘cheesy’. Not realistic, things that happen in these films don’t happen in real life. This genre of film can also make you feel bad about life even though it can make some people feel good.

Thriller films have the ability to be able to influence the brains thoughts. Like some other film genres, thriller gives the audience an adrenaline rush. They have an interesting story line. Also the genre is combined by different genres. Watching too many thriller films can be harmful. Can cause anxiety, sleepless nights and paranoia. Like Horror, this genre of film can influence behavioural changes. Can scare people.

Drama help the audience to think more creatively. Some people can relate to the storyline of the film. Although a drama, these films are often overly dramatic. Drama movies have got a sad storyline which can upset some people. People can find the storylines and the film in general unrealistic despite being able to relate to the storyline.

Action movies can create emotion for the audience. Action movies can enhance your awareness for certain life situations. A study shows that this genre of film can make you grow emotionally stronger. Decreases your attention span because of the pace of the film. The story lines of this genre are very deep or complex. Many seem to promote violence and unhealthy role models for male. Often non stop action so you cant really tell what storyline of the film actually is.
- 10. Musical The standard of actingisn’t necessary because it’s more singing based. Both advantage and disadvantage Musical films can make you feel happy. Can be funny because of the singing along sections in the film. Some can seen to be quite realistic. Liked by most females, not so males. Although some seem to be realistic, a lot are seen to be unrealistic. Quality of acting isn’t of a high standard. Don’t appeal to both sexes, mainly for females.
- 11. War War movies have oftengot a true storyline to them so you can see what it was in the situation in the film. The editing and props often look really realistic. Can often have a lot of action in so there not boring. Often show what someone's life has been like. E.g. 8 years ago… Have a lot of war related images and scenery, blood, guns etc. Can make you feel sad because of the imagery. Some are quite brutal, a lot of violent scenes.
- 12. Historical Often are factual basedso are seen to be realistic. Quite action packed, always something going on. Historical films have often got someone important in, e.g. King/Queen. Makes the film more interesting. Often refer back to a major event in world history. Although they can be realistic, some can be inaccurate in the way of getting some events in history wrong. They can stop you from reading the book of the film which can be better than the film. Not all are educational if they are unrealistic.
- 13. Westerns Easy to findprops and scenery to film the movie. Some are educational in the sense of showing you what it would have been like in that time. Many have lots of action, fights, gun battles, face offs. Most western films seem to be near enough the same. Often have the same scenery and props. Guns, outback, horses. Not very realistic or factual.
