2. Beyoncé Knowles and Tulisa Contostavlos are both
female artists that have originated from bands,
Beyoncé's' being Destiny's Child and Tulsa's being N
Dubz and then gone for a solo career, because of
bigger and better opportunities. Both destiny's Child
and N Dubz have the same genre of hip hop/R&B
and pop and have produced similar songs that have
hit the top ten in the UK. Beyoncé and Tulisa as solo
artist are also similar in the way they look and sing
they are both very glamorous characters that sing
about there own life's and beliefs. However Beyoncé
has become more successful than Tulisa in her
career with more albums and top chart hit, this is
because she has had more experience working in
the music industry.
3. Similarities and Differences can also be identified from the songs I have chosen to
evaluate and their videos: 'Run The World' and 'Young'.
Here are a series of different shots from each of the music videos,
there is a main difference in that Beyoncé is seen as fierce and fiery in her facial
expressions and body language the way her stance is and her arm is up in the air
portraying the image of her being powerful and strong and also victory in the way her
arm is faced up, in contrast Tulsa is promoting youth and enjoying yourself partying
with friend in her video and so we can see from her facial features she is smiling and
smirking casually which goes with the image of the video. In one part of Tulsa's video
Young she is seen wearing a floral swimming costume, which is very girly and
glamorous and revealing in the same way Beyonce is seen wearing revealing and
exotic clothing giving off sex appeal however in other parts of her video she wears
stronger heavy material clothing of gold's and reds showing royalty and strength.
There stance in both videos are similar in the way they stand tall and strong reflecting
them both being strong individual women promoting female empowerment. The
setting and location of both videos are different Beyoncé is featured in a dessert and
Tulisa on the streets and inside a building which reflects both what they are trying to
say in their videos. In a way they are both singing about something that resembles
their personalities, Tulsa is singing about how she likes to have fun and believes if
you are only young once you should enjoy it and live it to the full, in the same way
Beyoncé is singing about how she is a strong independent woman and wants to give
out the message of strength and female empowerment. They are both giving out
messages in what they believe in.
