Mariano Cruz worked as an engineering intern for Turner Construction Company during the summer of 2015. His first assignment was renovations to the Clemson Memorial Stadium suites. During his internship, he visited construction sites daily and gained experience in construction materials testing. Working for a general contractor provided him an opportunity to learn about the construction industry firsthand. He developed problem solving skills and gained knowledge of day-to-day operations. Cruz hopes to continue learning about the construction field during the fall 2015 semester as he continues his internship.

As

my
first

always
wondered

working

a

I’ve gained interpersonal and professional

gained opportunities to practice speaking
Spanish with various employees.
UPON GRADUATION
I plan to complete graduate school in the
Spring of 2017. I would like to work for
Turner Construction or the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers.
