OBJECTIVE:
To secure a full-time/permanent civil engineering position prior to my May 2017 graduation. My concentration/interests
are in Construction Management & Structural Engineering. I have interned for 4 summers where 2 of these were in
construction and 2 were with an engineering consulting firm. My goal is also to use my 3 years of leadership, training and
management experience as Resident Assistant in the role(s) in this engineering position.

 Financed a good portion of my education/ living expenses during college through summer civil engineering
internships, working summer jobs, being a Resident Assistant for 3 years & with my academic scholarships.
ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE:
Paid Civil Engineering Co-Op/Intern, The Comfort Group, Nashville, TN May – July ‘16
 Worked on a construction site location in Nashville at a high-end hotel, called the Thompson Hotel, where I
worked with the HVAC/sheet metalinstallation team
 During the end of this internship, I also spent 1-2 days per week in the office where I had some exposure into
management. Since I came to this Co-op position with various past summer civil internships, I was selected for
this position where most of their other interns/co-ops are for 3 consecutive summers, in contrast I am getting the
experience & exposure all in one summer since I will be graduating from UT in May 2017
 Some experience verifying that installed work is compliant with contract documents
 Earned the respect of my peers
 Vast exposure to HVAC
 Received material management experience
 Communicated with general contractors
 Coordination with other trades on the job
 Received a good understanding of management functions such as change orders, & submittals (I looked up
submittals)

Paid Engineering Technician I (TI), S&ME, Inc., Nashville, TN/Raleigh NC May – Aug. ‘15
S&ME delivers engineering, design, planning, environmental and construction services for the built environment.
 Observed and documented concrete placement conditions independently and with a team
 Sampled fresh concrete on-site for air content, slump, temperature and unit weight independently and with a team
 Made cylinders & beams for strength tests independently and with a team
 Worked on a various range of construction sites including warehouse slab pours, parking garage footings &
foundations & high rise residential condos
 Managed and documented test and observations for concrete placements varying from 30 yards to 700 yards
 Observed the testing of concrete cylinders
 Worked various hours/shifts due to projects & their location
 Obtained field & laboratory testing experience by aiding S&ME staff & self-performing assigned tasks & tests
 Obtained professional experience by aiding degreed & licensed engineers

ENGINEERING PROJECTS:
University ofTN’s Concrete Canoe Team January 2016- Present
National level of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) annually challenges civil engineering students to design a
canoe made primarily of lightweight concrete. This competition not only pushes students to materially design a
lightweight canoe,but also has a shape that will glide through the water and provide stability when the concrete canoe is
actually raced at the annual conference. Every canoe has a theme that makes it stand apart.
 I am a member of a 20-member team that is responsible for designing, planning, building, implementing,
manufacturing, water testing & also who maintains our concrete canoe
 Competed at the 2016 ASCE Southeast Student Conference on March 10-12, 2016 at the University of Alabama
in Tuscaloosa, AL. Our concrete canoe was displayed and raced at Lake Lurleen State Park. We came in 2nd
out
of 28 universities.
