MCOMS in Nepal has grown significantly since its establishment in 1994. It now has over 1,363 MBBS alumni, an 825-bed teaching hospital, and postgraduate degree programs. The vision is to achieve global leadership in education and healthcare. While the quality of education and standards of care have improved with newer facilities and technology, challenges remain such as an unstable political environment, issues with regulatory bodies, and difficulties retaining experienced faculty.
