Mazuri represents a range of good quality, affordability priced hair care treatments specific to
African, Caribbean kinky, curly afro textured hair and is currently in the top three leading
Afro ranges in the Europe. The range features three sub categories.
 Green for straight relaxer or natural hair.
 Yellow for texturizer, curly or wavy hair.
 Pink for Children and young adults.
The Relaxer Kit, offers all the products
necessary for a user to perform a one
application tre for home use (similar to a
colouring kits with gloves, shampoo etc) and is
then supported by a range of atment on their hair
and is designed aftercare treatment, finishing
and styling products which are often purchased
later and used daily.
About Hair Relaxer
The Key product in the Mazuri range is
the relaxer kit, for which there are currently three variants.
1 Adult Normal
2 Adult Texturizer
3 Children Normal
4 Children’s Texturizer
The Relaxer Kit, offers all the products necessary for a user to perform a one application treatment on
their hair and is designed for home use (similar to a colouring kits with gloves, shampoo etc) and is then
supported by a range of aftercare treatment, finishing and styling products which are often purchased later and used daily.
Why do afro hair consumers, needs a hair relaxer products.
The ‘Hair Relaxer’ has been used to permanently straighten afro textured hair since as early as 1901 – While the active
ingredients have remained relatively the same, modern technology has allowed conditioning buffer like
Olive Oil which is found in quality hair relaxer like Mazuri, to be added in the product. Traditionally, Afro textured hair is
very tight with kinky curls; this leaves manageability and combing difficult, often leading to lots of hair breakage. Whereas, with the use of hair
relaxer products like Mazuri, bonds deep inside the hair shaft is softened and “Relaxes” the natural curl of the hair. As a result of the hair relaxer,
afro textured consumers which today has expanded beyond the traditional ‘Africa, Caribbean’ consumer to Brazilian, East African,
Mixed Race- Multicultural can style, control and gain manageability of kinky, curly afro textured hair.
It is estimated, 80-90% of females with afro textured hair, in Europe and the USA use a hair relaxer product and see the hair relaxer which
should be applied to new growth hair every six to eight weeks, as an essential part of their personal care regime.
After Relaxer Treatments
As a result of the hair relaxer which often strips the hair of vital lipids and oils, necessary for strong healthy hair. A range of
daily care hair treatment are then essential to ensure the hair does not become dry, brittle and break, moisture being one of the key
required ingredient for afro textured hair, this also applies to Styling Products, Finishing Product, shampoo’s and
Specialist treatment conditioners offered in the Mazuri range.
For afro textured hair, specialist treatment products which contain the right level of moisture and proteins for the hair needs can be expensive to
buy and have not always been available on the high street. In early 1990, Pak Cosmetics (our company) introduced the concept of retail shops exclusively
selling African and Caribbean hair care and beauty products. Today our business has expanded to 24 stand alone retail branches across London
but while the industry has expanded too, with over three hundred smaller independent “Afro Hair Shops” (as colloquially referred) positioned in highly
populated ethnic towns across the UK, Pak Cosmetics has maintained leadership position.
To give you an idea of supply and demand, a Pak’s shop will stock approximately 600 brands of products, from some 6000 sku’s and as a
group, services approximately 33,000 customers per week. These products are indigenous to the Caribbean, Africa and mostly imported into the UK.

Caring the Pak’s name, the range organically also helped win consumer confidence in store and supported
pull through sales for other brands on shelf alongside a Paks branded product. The range is also
manufactured in the UK.

Servicing the gaps in the UK market and the needs of the ‘Afro’ consumer has organically
helped the Pak’s brand to become iconic, not just in the UK but also across Europe.
In 2007 Pak Cosmetics was the first to introduce ‘Afro’ hair and beauty products to the
UK’s FMCG supermarkets.
This followed with the creation of the Pak’s brand of own label range for distribution to FMCG
Supermarkets in the UK. The range featured a smaller section of products for maintaining and
caring for relaxed hair, naturally plaited hair. It also catered for hair extensions and was
designed to me widely affordable with an RRP under £3 offering a brand alternative to products
in the £5 price point.
Baby Jelly
Like hair care, skin care also has its place in the afro personal care
sector. PCC brands Baby Jelly is a leading range and features
scented petroleum base products, highly popular with consumers in the
UK, priced below the £2 point, the brand is seen as a daily essential
tool to retaining moisture in the colder months and helps to keep the
skin soft and moist all year round.

Mazuri Olive Oil Hair Care Range Mazuri represents a range of good quality, affordability priced hair care treatments specific to African, Caribbean kinky, curly afro textured hair and is currently in the top three leading Afro ranges in the Europe. The range features three sub categories.  Green for straight relaxer or natural hair.  Yellow for texturizer, curly or wavy hair.  Pink for Children and young adults. The Relaxer Kit, offers all the products necessary for a user to perform a one application tre for home use (similar to a colouring kits with gloves, shampoo etc) and is then supported by a range of atment on their hair and is designed aftercare treatment, finishing and styling products which are often purchased later and used daily. About Hair Relaxer The Key product in the Mazuri range is the relaxer kit, for which there are currently three variants. 1 Adult Normal 2 Adult Texturizer 3 Children Normal 4 Children’s Texturizer

The Relaxer Kit, offers all the products necessary for a user to perform a one application treatment on their hair and is designed for home use (similar to a colouring kits with gloves, shampoo etc) and is then supported by a range of aftercare treatment, finishing and styling products which are often purchased later and used daily. Why do afro hair consumers, needs a hair relaxer products. The ‘Hair Relaxer’ has been used to permanently straighten afro textured hair since as early as 1901 – While the active ingredients have remained relatively the same, modern technology has allowed conditioning buffer like Olive Oil which is found in quality hair relaxer like Mazuri, to be added in the product. Traditionally, Afro textured hair is very tight with kinky curls; this leaves manageability and combing difficult, often leading to lots of hair breakage. Whereas, with the use of hair relaxer products like Mazuri, bonds deep inside the hair shaft is softened and “Relaxes” the natural curl of the hair.
