This document provides writing prompts for a 6th grade TELPAS math assessment. Students are instructed to write a response reflecting on a way they have used math outside of school, explain the steps of a mathematical process, or describe something they are learning in math class. As an example, students are asked to write a narrative explaining how they would teach a second grader the steps for long division.

 Explain whether or not the answer to this problem is reasonable.
Example: Pretend you are teaching a 2nd grader how to do long division. Write a
narrative of what you would say and how you would teach the student the steps.
