EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This is a high level snapshot that allows your client to become familiar with the major
points of your report before reading it through. It quickly summarizes the most important
assertions you’ve made in Objectives, Findings, Conclusions and Recommendations. Your
audience should be able to use it to decide if this is the right report to read further. Think of the
abstract you'll see when you locate an article in the Full Sail library database. That’s what it
should look like. You’ll come back to write this part after your paper is complete.

OBJECTIVE
This report was compiled for Pixar Animation Studios to let them know whether it would
be worth it to continue with the Toy Story franchise.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
All the information gathered for this report are from secondary internet sources and
internet databases. I also gathered resources from The Walt Disney Company and Pixar
Animation Studios websites. The information was compiled throughout the month of February
2018. The information is more qualitative than quantitate. Total revenue is hard to find due to it
being a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
RESEARCH AND KEY FINDINGS
Include your strongest and most important research in this section. Include an industry
description and outlook. Name the target market for your company and your chosen product.
Summarize your competitive analysis. Be sure to note pertinent findings in your STEEPLE and
SWOT analyses. Aspire to a balanced mix of numbers and descriptions.
Three visuals are required. You may include pictures or charts, tables and graphs within
the body of your paper. Each visual must be simple, clear and understood by the reader in less
than 10 seconds. If you did not create the visual, it must also be cited in the paper and on the
reference page at the end. Any interviews, large charts or other detailed reports that
demand more than 10 seconds of a reader’s attention go in the appendix at the end.
For people who love movies and have children they most likely have seen most if not all
of Pixar Animation Studios movies. One of the most popular franchises from Pixar is Toy Story.
The first Toy Story movie is about a young boy and his toys, how it can feel to be left behind,
and not know if you are truly loved. Andy’s favorite toy is a cowboy doll named Woody, until a
spaceman named Buzz Lightyear is given to him for his birthday and becomes his favorite toy.
4. Page 4
They learn about friendship. Toy Story 2 is about how Woody gets broken, accidently put on a
rummage sale table and stolen to try to be sold to a toy museum in Japan with other characters
from the television show Woody was from, one toy ends up not with them but the other two
come home with Woody to be Andy’s toys. Toy Story 3 happened about 10 years after the
second one, and shows Andy going to college. It has been compared to Animal Farm by George
Orwell in that the daycare the toys end up going to is a dictatorship under a bear named “Lots-O-
Huggin’ Bear”.
Toy Story 3 by JerrodMaruyama
When the first Toy Story came out in 1995 it was ahead of its time. That means that it is
twenty-two years old. Toy Story 2 came out in 1999 making it nineteen years old, and Toy Story
3 is only eight years old with it coming out in 2010. Nostalgia means to look back, lately winners
of awards have gone back to older ways of doing movies (Annett, 2014). Millenials and
Generation X and Y love to look back on things, if it brings back memories they love it. To bring
back the characters they have grown up with would make them want to come back for more.

CONCLUSIONS
This is the analysis part. More than a restatement of the Findings, it’s a recognition of
what the Findings mean. Make a clear statement about your company’s status and position, and
that of the product and markets you researched. Draw a conclusion about the current and
projected markets for your company and your product.
RECOMMENDATIONS
How should your company capitalize on favorable findings? How should it respond to
unfavorable findings? Are you making strategic, tactical, operational or micro recommendations?
Include at least one SMART goal in your recommendations (Specific, Measurable, Attainable,
Relevant and Time-bound). Be clear about the benefits of your recommendations. Acknowledge
unknowns and include recommended future research.
