Operation of a Marechal Decontactor for Motors
The Marechal plug is positioned in the socket-outlet by pushing then twisting clockwise in much the same way as inserting an electric light bulb. The Marechal plug is then in the rest position, circuit open - this is indicated by a "green" window located on the front of the Marechal socket-outlet. At this stage, the plug can be locked onto the socket-outlet by means of a conventional lock-out. To close the electrical circuit, push the Marechal plug fully home, until it is held by the locking ring. The window located on the front of the socket-outlet becomes "red". IP67 is achieved by turning the ring clockwise. To release the Marechal plug, simply turn the ring fully anticlockwise. The circuit is opened and the plug returns to its parked position. To remove the plug from the socket-outlet, turn the plug from right to left. The lid can then be closed. Turn the ring from left to right to achieve IP67 socket-outlet watertightness.

IP67 is achieved by turning the ring clockwise. To release the Marechal plug, simply turn the ring fully anticlockwise. The circuit is opened and the plug returns to its parked position. To remove the plug from the socket-outlet, turn the plug from right to left. The lid can then be closed. Turn the ring from left to right to achieve IP67 socket-outlet watertightness.

Prove the system/equipment is DEAD using an approved voltage indicator or test lamp
Prove that the approved voltage indicator or test lamp is functioning correctly
Put up warning signs to tell other people that the electrical installation has been isolated
Once the system/equipment is proved DEAD, work can begin
