- Points to emphasis with students and parents: o stress that this is a diagnostic assessment. It will not be graded or be used in any derogatory way towards their child. o students and parents must understand that the student has to get 50% of the items WRONG for the test to stop, as adaptive test MAP will continue until it has reached the child’s just right level. (Just right level is 50% right and 50% wrong). o parents must understand that helping their child will actually hurt them in that the teacher will assume they are ready for things they are not ready for. o Students must understand that cheating is pointless.
