The document describes altering common sounds by heightening their pitch to create unnatural mechanical or alien noises. A door squeak was made to sound like a turning on and off machine. A computer fan was similarly altered but made to seem like a different device. Coins rattling had their pitch heightened further and repeated louder, imagining a larger machine.

1. I used the sound of a door squeaking here
and massively heightened the pitch
making it sound almost mechanical but
not quite like most machinery people
would be used to hearing. It fades in and
out as if whatever machine is making the
sound has come to life and quickly been
turned off.
The sound of a computers fan was altered in almost
exactly the same way as that of the door squeaking
in order to create a similar effect but make it sound
like a different device. The main difference is that at
the end of this recording someone could be heard
muttering however after the sound was heightened
it sounded almost like an alien, panicked voice.
The pitch of coins rattling had its pitch
heightened even further than that of the
other 2 sounds here. It was also then
repeated before having it faded out. The
sound was quite a bit louder than the of the
other 2 as well giving the image of a larger
machine than the other two.
