Lake Manchar is located south of Lake Hamal in Pakistan. The two lakes are connected by the Main Nara Valley Drain built in 1921. The area around Lake Manchar is a popular tourist destination where people visit from nearby areas. The shores of Lake Manchar contain archaeological sites dating back to the Harappan culture such as Ghazi Shah and Wahi Pandhi Al Murad Mound. Lake Manchar flows into the Indus River. It emerged from a tributary of the Indus and was further developed by connecting it to Lake Hamal. In 2010, the lake was flooded and in 1958 it completely evaporated due to drought.
