All business organization have resources and
goals.
These and many more can be possible through
good and just MANAGEMENT
A business organization cannot survive without
efficient and effective Management
 It is survival of the fittest ,and
the fittest is one that has best
management.
 It is a process by which a cooperative group directs
action toward common goals.(by: Joseph
Massie,author of Essentials of mgt).
 By Joseph Hughes, author of Business,
 It is the process of coordinating the resources of the
organization in order to achieve common goal.
 Management is both an art and Science.Art because
mgt.requires skills and techniques in dealing with
people to achieve organizational goals.
Peter Drucker,A world Management Consultant
The first function of a business enterprise is economic
performance.
This measured in terms of profit.it is the development
and growth of the enterprise.Without profit a business
organization cannot sustain its existence.
 Management as Science, is systematic and uses
scientific methods of solving business problems.
 This is also the job of the ENTREPRENEUR
1.Material Resources
2.Human Resources
3.Financial Resources
4.Informational Resources
 Determine the materials that are indigenous to the
area and abundant quantities. Study the possibilities
of making money out these abundant resources, either
through gathering
trading or partial processing, manufacturing products.
But do not just copy or imitate, Innovate.
Innovating is improving on someone else's
idea to make it work for you.
 People who plan and implement business
activities, some have specialized skills that can be
used or developed for commercial purposes.
 .
 With sufficient funds business can implement their
projects
 Good and exact information it is possible to
formulate good plans and in decision making,
facts are very important .
The entrepreneur must know the needs of his
Business rivals technological developments and
business policies of the government.
 In the Philippines there is abundance of human
Resources, Such abundant human resources
have remained idle and the opportunities to exploit
our cheap human and natural resources. Their
money technology have provided them a natural
advantage.
 J
 But also to help the JOBLESS
 Such very precious human resources constitute
an enormous economic waste if they are not use
in the production of goods and services. It is the
social responsibility of the management to
employ such resources for the good of the
economy and society.
 1.Establish goals of the enterprise and
develop plans to attain goals.
Common to all business organizations is the pursuit
of profit. They may vary in strategies of achieving
or maximizing profits.
 2.Organize people and other resources to achieve
goals.
Resources and activities of the enterprise must be
grouped in such a way as to ensure efficiency and
economy.
 3.Lead and motivate people towards the goals of
the enterprise
 The entrepreneur must be a good leader and
effective motivator. He must be able to stimulate
his employees to give their peak performance for
the best interest of the enterprise.
 4.Maintain sufficient control system to ensure that
the enterprise is moving well towards its goals.
 The entrepreneur must evaluate and regulate
current activities to make sure that goals are
realized. In cased activities are not on schedule
or out of line, then corrective actions can be
done.
 .
 Set Goals- Manager should be well
organized allocate priorities, establish their short
term and long term goals, then ensure all effort
to achieve them
 It is important for a manager to understand the
needs of costumers, Active listening helps
managers gather relevant information.
 3.A manager is talented in net working,
socializing ,and contacting and interacting with
out others are source of in structured
managerial information and a tool
developing a good reputation.
4.Manager should be
a good negotiator-One of the requirement is to negotiate
with superiors, subordinates, costumers and suppliers,
-should be able to discuss interest and not positions.
-
Can find ideas of others and they understand their
behavior/situation and find the best solution for both
sides.
 Risk is a part of business it can be both within the
control of the entrepreneur.
 HOW TO ELIMINATE OR MINIMIZE RISK?
 IT MUST HAVE A RISK AND INSURASNCE
PROGRAM.
1.Fire-this is the first fear of business owner,
So they eliminate their risk through fire insurance.
How ever there are things which a fire insurance
cannot protect like lost of costumers, records and
other valuable assets.
A much better risk protection program is fire
prevention measures
 2. Natural Calamities-floods ,typhoon and
earthquake are in most cases not included in
the insurance coverage. Entrepreneurs can only
minimize risk from natural calamities by proper
choice of locations which are free from such
disasters.
 3.Personal liabilities-ex. A costumer is injured
inside the store or costumer got sick in eating the
product of the entrepreneur. Such incidents may
result to law suits. Such risk can be prevented or
minimized by proper facilities or quality control
program.
 4.Economic Problems-These have direct effects
on the profitability of the enterprise. Recession,
depressons Inflation and massive unemployment
can reduce sales of good and services. Adequate
financial resources during bad times for business
can be good protection from business losses.
 5.Business Interruptions-Strikes of employees and
suppliers pose a great business risk .The
entrepreneur must have stockpiling strategy,
However, a strong financial position greatly helps
the enterprise survive during such business
interruptions.
 6.Loss of key personnel-The resignation of
important employees is a big blow to business
enterprise.
 Resignation of an expert or technical specialist
can cause work stoppage. It is not easy to get
replacement immediately
Which are criminal in nature, Such risk
are personally planned or intended:
1.Burglary-There is a need to protect
inventories,supplies,equipment,by providing safety
facilities.
 2.Robbery-Installation of proper alarm
devices, lighting facilities and other preventive
measures can eliminate robbery
 3.Shoplifting-.Children pick goods without
knowing they are committing a crime. Mirrors
and store layout can detect shoplifting.
5.Employee theft-Avoid temptations for
employees, such as open storage rooms ,desks,
cash registers .There should be strict hiring
policy for personnel involved ,in the handling of
money and products.
 THANK YOU
BYE.BYE…..
