•We are a successful advertising firm
•We recently got a project dealing with advertising for
Wheat-X, a well-known cereal brand.
•The employees are having a conflict dealing with
what type of advertisement we should create, a
modern one with celebrities, or a traditional style with
billboards.
•We don’t know what to do.

3. Possible Solutions of team member
1. Let the manger pick the style
2. Take a vote to see which style has the
majority and pick that one
3. Split the team and make them work on
both of the two styles. Whichever one
turns out better should be used.

4. Possible Solutions of Manager
1. Mix the traditional and the modern
solutions to come up with an all new,
original, and creative idea.
2. Let the team leader pick the style
3. Pick the style in which Wheat-X also
agrees with

Team member
1. If we let the manager pick the style, it would
be totally biased and there would be a lot of
unhappy employees.
2. If we take a vote, there will be a direct
majority and the other group has to agree
the winner. That’s a good idea.
3. If we do that, we probably will not have
enough group members to finish the project
by the given deadline.

6. Outcomes of Possible solutions from the
manager
1. If we mix the traditional and modern style, both groups will be
happy since we are using an idea both of the groups like. But,
the people viewing the advertisement will most likely be
confused and will not like the advertisement much.
2. If the manager lets the team leader pick, there will be a lot of
unhappy employees and most likely, more conflicts will arise.
But, at least, the project will be done.
3. Wheat-X got a deal with us to make the advertisement. If we
ask them for an idea, they would think of giving the project to
us was a waste of money. So, that’s a bad idea.

would pick is taking a vote for the best
style.

would pick is letting the team leader
pick the style since they are the ones
mostly coming up with ideas for the
project.
