Causal organism: Hemileia vastatrix
 Field sanitation- collecting and destroying the infected plant parts is one
of the method to control the disease.
Spraying of copper fungicides like bordeaux mixture (0.5%) at proper
intervals is an effective control measure
The dithiocarbamate fungicides are also effective in controlling the
disease
Proper maintenance of canopy cover is also one of the control measure,
since it prevents dew formation on the coffee leaves and therefore reduces
infection.
Using resistant varieties of coffee plants can reduce the disease incidence
