1 Penglihatan Obaja. Beginilah firman Tuhan ALLAH tentang Edom; Kami telah mendengar khabar angin
daripada TUHAN, dan seorang utusan telah dihantar ke antara bangsa-bangsa: Bangunlah, marilah kita bangkit
melawan dia dalam peperangan.
2 Sesungguhnya, Aku telah menjadikan engkau kecil di antara bangsa-bangsa: engkau sangat dihina.
3 Keangkuhan hatimu telah memperdayakan engkau, hai kamu yang tinggal di celah-celah batu, yang tempat
kediamannya tinggi; yang berkata dalam hatinya, Siapakah yang akan menurunkan aku ke tanah?
4 Walaupun engkau meninggikan dirimu seperti burung helang, dan walaupun engkau meletakkan sarangmu di

berdamai denganmu telah menipu engkau dan mengalahkan engkau; mereka yang makan rotimu telah meletakkan
luka di bawahmu: tidak ada pengertian padanya.
8 Bukankah pada hari itu, demikianlah firman TUHAN, Aku akan memusnahkan orang-orang bijaksana dari
Edom, dan pengertian dari gunung Esau?
9 Dan orang-orang perkasamu, hai Teman, akan terkejut, sehingga setiap orang dari gunung Esau akan dilenyapkan
oleh pembantaian.
10 Kerana kekerasanmu terhadap saudaramu Yakub, malu akan menutupi engkau, dan engkau akan dilenyapkan
untuk selama-lamanya.
11 Pada hari engkau berdiri di seberang, pada hari orang asing menawan tenteranya, dan orang asing masuk ke
pintu gerbangnya, dan membuang undi atas Yerusalem, engkau pun seperti salah seorang dari mereka.
12 Tetapi kamu tidak sepatutnya melihat hari saudaramu pada hari dia menjadi orang asing; janganlah engkau
bersukacita atas bani Yehuda pada hari kehancuran mereka; dan janganlah engkau berkata sombong pada hari
kesesakan.
13 Engkau tidak seharusnya masuk ke pintu gerbang umat-Ku pada hari malapetaka mereka; ya, kamu tidak
sepatutnya melihat kesusahan mereka pada hari malapetaka mereka, atau telah meletakkan tangan ke atas harta
mereka pada hari malapetaka mereka;
14 Janganlah engkau berdiri di persimpangan jalan untuk melenyapkan mereka yang melarikan diri; dan janganlah
engkau menyerahkan orang-orangnya yang masih tinggal pada hari kesusahan.
15 Sebab hari Tuhan sudah dekat atas semua bangsa: seperti yang telah kamu lakukan, itu akan dilakukan
kepadamu; upahmu akan kembali ke atas kepalamu sendiri.
16 Kerana sebagaimana kamu telah minum di atas gunung kudus-Ku, demikianlah semua bangsa akan minum
secara berterusan, ya, mereka akan minum, dan mereka akan menelan, dan mereka akan menjadi seolah-olah
mereka tidak pernah ada.
17 Tetapi di atas gunung Sion akan ada pembebasan, dan akan ada kekudusan; dan keluarga Yakub akan memiliki
harta benda mereka.
18 Dan keluarga Yakub akan menjadi api, dan keluarga Yusuf menjadi nyala api, dan keluarga Esau menjadi jerami,
dan mereka akan menyala di dalamnya dan memakan mereka; dan tidak akan ada seorang pun yang tinggal dari
keluarga Esau; kerana TUHAN telah berfirman.
19 Dan mereka dari selatan akan memiliki gunung Esau; dan orang-orang dari dataran orang Filistin; dan mereka
akan memiliki ladang Efraim dan ladang Samaria, dan Benyamin akan memiliki Gilead.
20 Dan tawanan dari pasukan bani Israel ini akan memiliki milik orang Kanaan, sampai ke Sarfat; dan tawanan
