3. Enhancing brightness & contrast
These two features are complementary of one another and I therefore decided to
enhance them at the same time. This would ensure that they didn’t overshadow or
eliminate one another. After the brightness and contrast had been increased, this is
what the image looked like.
4. Curves
I then altered the “curves” of the image which made it appear generally a deeper
black, without taking away the distinct white of the background.
5. Adapting black and white
I was also able to select different colours that I wanted darkened. For example, by
dragging the blue bar to the left, all of the blue in the image would become
deeper, albeit a deeper shade of black.
