Water hyacinth is a rapidly growing invasive plant that has proven difficult to control through traditional chemical, biological, and mechanical means. However, it can be utilized as a renewable resource with many potential uses. It can be used as animal feed, especially for non-ruminants like pigs and rabbits. It can also be composted and used as organic fertilizer or mulch, improving soil properties and supplying nutrients to crops. Additionally, water hyacinth has the ability to remove pollutants from wastewater, making it useful for phytoremediation and biological treatment of contaminated water sources.

Developing for Remote Bamboo Agents, AtlasCamp US 2012Atlassian
Brydie McCoy, Java Developer
As more and more peoples' building demands grow, they expand from building everything locally to a distributed building system or the elastic cloud. And for OnDemand the elastic cloud is the only option. Unfortunately developing plugins for remote/elastic agents has its own set of gotchas. Most plugins written for Bamboo do not work properly on remote agents. This talk will cover the core principles of developing for remote agents, what you can and can't do, as well as more advanced topics such as data transfer and communication between the agent and the server.
The document discusses version control and introduces Git as a distributed and centralized version control system. It explains the key properties of Git including being file-based, fast, using checksums, and attention to detail. The document also outlines some of the basic Git commands like add, commit, reset, checkout, diff, and demonstrates other commands like stash, log, show, amend, and branching and merging. It concludes by asking when organizations should switch from SVN to Git version control.
This document discusses challenges with traditional Java development approaches and how the z2 Environment addresses them. It notes that traditional approaches do not scale well for modular systems or large projects. Maven is useful for libraries but does not ensure source or system consistency. The z2 Environment provides a runtime that automatically updates based on source repository changes, ensuring a consistent environment across development, testing, and production.
Using cloud computing and virtualization technologies, continuous delivery focuses on automating the process of deploying code changes to production environments as quickly and frequently as possible while ensuring quality. Techniques like Chef automation, Amazon VPC, and Vagrant help configure and provision virtual servers that simulate production environments for testing purposes before deploying to actual production servers. A continuous delivery pipeline with stages like acceptance testing, staging, and production releases helps validate and release code changes.
Perforce Unplugged: Central and Distributed Versioning and distributed versio...Perforce
This document discusses distributed version control systems (DVCS) and introduces Perforce's solution called P4Sandbox. P4Sandbox allows for connection independent versioning through local private branching and task branching. It replicates the central repository locally to allow offline work and easy branching for tasks. When reconnecting, changes are automatically synced between the local and central copies.
This document discusses TAO APIs for integrating standalone items into computer-based assessment platforms. It provides an overview of the available APIs, including client-side and server-side APIs, and how they can be used for item I/O, backend setup, event logging, item state, and more. It also describes how to run a standalone item and which features are needed to integrate it with a CBA platform using the Item Runtime and Workflow Runtime APIs. The document encourages contributions to the TAO APIs by discussing support resources on the TAO Forge.
The MEW Workshop is now established as a leading national event dedicated to distributed high performance scientific computing. Fabric is a Python tool for streamlining the use of SSH for systems administration tasks. It allows you to write Python functions to represent tasks and run them on remote servers. The document provides an introduction to Fabric and examples of using it to execute commands on multiple servers, define environments for development and production, and integrate with tools like Vagrant. Fabric allows mixing Python and system calls to perform automated administrative tasks across multiple servers.
Git provides a distributed version control system that is faster and more lightweight than the centralized SVN. Git allows for easy branching and merging of code. Developers can work independently on their local repositories and sync changes to remote repositories. This allows teams to work together seamlessly on codebases.
The document summarizes key concepts and commands of version control systems using Git. It shows how Git allows creating repositories to track changes to files over time. Developers can add, commit, push and pull changes. Branches allow parallel development while tags help mark important commits. Distributed version control allows multiple replicas of the repository and independent work with a central shared source of truth.
Fabric is a Python library and command-line tool that allows streamlining SSH administration tasks. It can execute commands both locally and remotely on servers. Fabric provides abstractions like tasks and contexts that allow commands to be executed in parallel or sequentially on different hosts. This improves on shell scripts by separating concerns of who executes commands and where. Thinking in Fabric contexts makes tasks more reusable.

HCL Notes und Domino Lizenzkostenreduzierung in der Welt von DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-und-domino-lizenzkostenreduzierung-in-der-welt-von-dlau/
