Open mapping technologies like OpenStreetMap and tools like Leaflet.js allow for custom mapping and visualization of data. Volunteers and enthusiasts have mapped many areas of Nepal, including mountain roads, cities, and airports. This mapping data can then be used for navigation, search, and to provide context to other datasets by displaying them on maps. Examples shown include mapping ward-level construction projects, locations of brick kilns, hydropower project licenses, and drinking water quality, integrating otherwise unrelated data onto geographic maps.
