2. GOD’S CHARACTER
• GALATIANS 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-
control. Against such there is no law.
• PSALM 18:30 - As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is
proven; He is a shield to all who trust in him.
• 1 JOHN 4:8 - He who does not know love does not know God, for God is
love.
• 1 JOHN 1:5 - This is the message which we have heard from Him and
declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
• ISAIAH 6:3 - And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the
Lord of hosts; The whole earth is filled with his glory!”
3. WHO ARE GOD’S ENEMIES?
1. SINNERS:
• Colossians 1:22-23 - And you, who once were alienated and
enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He
has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you
holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.
• Romans 3: 23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God.
2. SATAN:
• Matthew 16:23 - But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind
Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the
things of God, but the things of men.”

3. THOSE WHO OPPOSE GOD’S PEOPLE:
A. Old Testament: Moabites & Philistines etc.
• Zephaniah 2: 8-9 - “I have heard the reproach of Moab,
And the insults of the people of Ammon,
With which they have reproached My people,
And made arrogant threats against their borders.
Therefore, as I live,”
Says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel,
“Surely Moab shall be like Sodom,
And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah…

3. THOSE WHO OPPOSE GOD’S PEOPLE:
B. New Testament: Religious leaders etc. (e.g. Sadducees &
Pharisees)
• Matthew 12:34 – Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil,
speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the
mouth speaks.
6. THE OUTCOME FOR GOD’S ENEMIES
If you PERSIST & CHOOSE to oppose God, the consequences
are:
1. DEATH AND DESTRUCTION ON EARTH:
• Deuteronomy 30:7 - Also the LORD your God will put all
these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who
persecuted you.
• Psalms 92:9 - For behold, Your enemies, O LORD,
For behold, Your enemies shall perish;
All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
7. THE OUTCOME FOR GOD’S ENEMIES
If you PERSIST & CHOOSE to oppose God, the consequences
are:
2. ETERNAL DAMNATION & SEPARATION FROM GOD:
• Matthew 25:41 - Then He will also say to those on the left
hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire
prepared for the devil and his angels
• Matthew 10: 28 - And do not fear those who kill the body but
cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy
both soul and body in hell.
9. GOD’S MERCY
• 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some
count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that
any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
• John 3:16: For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life.
SALVATION IS BY GOD’S GRACE ALONE:
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast
(Ephesians 2:8-9).
10. PRODIGAL SON (LUKE 15:11-32)
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was
still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion,
and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against
heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be
called your son.’
11. PRODIGAL SON (LUKE 15:11-32)
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best
robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and
sandals on his feet.
23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and
be merry;
24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost
and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
12. HOW DOES GOD TREAT HIS
ENEMIES?
• Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
• Luke 15:7 -10 - I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in
heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just
persons who need no repentance.
• 1 Peter 2: 24-25 - Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the
tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by
whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but
have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
• Romans 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God
through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we
shall be saved by His life.
