Simple cover image and simple colours create sophistication and a professional feel and make the page more fresh looking, and it is easier to recognise where the features are and read them clearly, rather than having a lot going on and having the page look busy. The three colour scheme of blue, white and black go well with the black and white cover photo and doesn’t create any colour clashes, as that would also make the page look busy and messy. A simple background makes the cover photo stand out more and makes it bolder looking, drawing attention. The feature titles don’t overlap with the photo, making it clear and simplistic and easier to read. Putting feature text in a coloured text block makes it stand out more and brings attention to it above other text. In this case, the text is about the main feature of Pete Doherty and having it stand out, attracts attention to it which would capture the appropriate reader. On this magazine, there are no feature titles/cover stories on the page, which breaks the usual magazine conventions. I don’t intend to do this with my magazine cover but I like how simple it makes the page look, and how different and unique it looks. COVER ANALYSIS
