increase the readers. ‘Holiday from
hell’ people always enjoy sharing
and reading about both great and
awful holidays hence this storyline.

I felt that as well as showing off my
characters I also needed to give more of an
insight into the actual storyline of these two
characters. I gave the title ‘Nerd Attraction’
I feel as though this is a good title as it gives
the clue to the audience that this storyline
will be about the attraction of a nerd.
Although this can be understood it still
doesn’t give too much away it is only a hook
for the audience to bite and therefore watch
the soap. To add to the information given on
the front cover I added the name of our soap
ands the fact that it was brand new. The
reasoning behind this was to entice a new
audience that may have turned there nose
up at a soap before. I also added the e4 logo
onto the front cover. I felt it was important
for the reader to know what channel our
soap would be found on as it would then be
easier to find in the TV guide inside the
magazine. I also felt that it would give our
soap a clear genre and differentiate it from
other soaps out there as there are not many
on e4 as it has a very specific target
audience that our soap will fit straight into.
I imagine it to be purple which is normal for
e4 and it will add another colour aspect to
the vibrant colours I already have.

‘Megan’s secret’ there are many reasons why I added this line into my
front cover. Firstly I added it as I feel it gives the reader a small story
to understand without giving the whole of the plot away. It means that
when reading up about the soap as well as when watching it they will
be paying close attention to Megan and when this secret will come out.
Secondly I felt it was a clever change of words from the popular girls
clothing brand ‘Victoria secret’ I felt that there target market may
understand this pun and therefore be more likely to tune in and watch.
