Cisco's SBTi Commitment
Cisco's 2040 Net Zero target is approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This means we have pledged to reduce our emissions
by at least 90% (compared to our base year of 2019). We will invest in verified carbon removal offsets to compensate for any residual
emissions (maximum 10% of FY19 baseline).

Renewable Electricity
• Collaborate with customers to help them procure and adopt renewable electricity to lower
emissions associated with use of Cisco products
• Continue engaging with external stakeholders (governments, peers, NGOs etc.) to organize to
advocate for the decarbonization of the global grid
Product Power Efficiency
• Expand innovation to increase the power efficiency of our products generation over
generation
• Engage with customers to lower overall energy use from Cisco products by optimizing their
internal network
Enhanced Product Data
• Engage with customers through real-time telemetry to better understand product energy use
to inform future engineering choices
• Encourage customers to report emissions data through public disclosures such as CDP to
increase global sustainability data transparency and help Cisco identify additional areas for
sustainability action

Renewables and Energy Efficiency in our Supply Chain
• Work with suppliers to perform frequent energy audits to understand opportunities to reduce energy
consumption, and encourage them to adopt low-carbon fuel alternatives, such as biofuels and hydrogen
• Help suppliers procure and adopt renewable electricity through power purchase agreements (PPAs) and
onsite renewable generation
Circular Business Transformation
• Continue to incorporate circular design principles into our practices and utilize low-carbon and recycled
materials for both design and packaging
• Expand our robust product takeback program to reduce waste from Cisco products
• Broaden Cisco's library of product carbon footprints (PCFs) to better understand the impact of our entire
portfolio
Supplier Reporting and Goal Setting
• Work with suppliers to report fuel consumption and sustainability metrics (e.g. electricity use, fuel
consumption) through public disclosures
• Help suppliers set sustainability goals and ensure they are making progress on their emissions reduction
targets
• Continue to collaborate with suppliers to increase the usage/accuracy of component data to better
understand Cisco's product carbon footprints (PCFs)

Logistics | Scope 3
Mode shifting
• Continue engaging with logistics suppliers to shift to lower-carbon intensive modes of
transportation
(e.g. switching from air freight to marine or rail)
• Work with suppliers to electrify their fleets to decarbonize last-mile delivery
Packaging
• Optimize our packaging to reduce shipping weight and volume to reduce overall fuel
consumption for Cisco product logistics
• Increase recycled and recovered materials used in packaging, and engage municipal waste
facilities to use less-carbon-intensive methods of disposal
Renewable and low-carbon fuels
• Continue to invest in low-carbon and renewable fuels, such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF),
to signal our interest in growing the market
• Invest in additional innovation technology to optimize fuel consumption and lower emissions
through other alternative fuels

• Increase renewable energy procurement for Cisco's operations, focusing on long-term
renewable energy contracts and investments. We plan to source renewable electricity
for the vast majority of our global electricity use by FY25
Energy management
• Continue to perform energy audits to identify and execute projects that reduce Cisco's total
energy consumption
• Expand efforts to reduce waste in operations through recycling and compost programs
• Prioritize hybrid work to decrease emissions associated with commuting, and explore
opportunities to further reduce Scope 3 emissions associated with our employees, such as ride
share opportunities and greening business travel
Electrification
• Further reduce Cisco's dependency on natural gas by electrifying our building heating systems
• Expand our electric fleet of company cars in Europe to reduce vehicle emissions

Measures to reduce emissions For example: • Use electricity produced from low-emission sources (e.g. solar, wind) • Increase product efficiency • Reduce waste x + Measures to remove emissions For example: • Forest expansions • Direct air carbon capture Cisco's SBTi Commitment Cisco's 2040 Net Zero target is approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This means we have pledged to reduce our emissions by at least 90% (compared to our base year of 2019). We will invest in verified carbon removal offsets to compensate for any residual emissions (maximum 10% of FY19 baseline).

Cisco Confidential Our carbon footprint Product Manufacturing Logistics Product Use Direct Operations 23 % 5% 70 % <1 % Scope 3 Scope 1 & 2 Manufacturing and warehousing of Cisco components, products, and services produce upstream emissions that are accounted for in Scope 3. Transportation and distribution of our products in the value chain produce emissions that are accounted for in Scope 3. The use of the products we sell produces emissions accounted for in Scope 3. This includes emissions from the energy our products consume during customer use. Emissions from the operation of Cisco facilities (electricity, fuel for heating and cooling, etc.) are accounted for in Scope 1 & 2. Note: Other value chain activities (e.g. waste and business travel) are also accounted for in Scope 3, but do not represent a large share of emissions. Percentages shown may be rounded.

Cisco Confidential How we’ll do it Product Use | Scope 3 Renewable Electricity • Collaborate with customers to help them procure and adopt renewable electricity to lower emissions associated with use of Cisco products • Continue engaging with external stakeholders (governments, peers, NGOs etc.) to organize to advocate for the decarbonization of the global grid Product Power Efficiency • Expand innovation to increase the power efficiency of our products generation over generation • Engage with customers to lower overall energy use from Cisco products by optimizing their internal network Enhanced Product Data • Engage with customers through real-time telemetry to better understand product energy use to inform future engineering choices • Encourage customers to report emissions data through public disclosures such as CDP to increase global sustainability data transparency and help Cisco identify additional areas for sustainability action 70%

Cisco Confidential How we’ll do it Logistics | Scope 3 Mode shifting • Continue engaging with logistics suppliers to shift to lower-carbon intensive modes of transportation (e.g. switching from air freight to marine or rail) • Work with suppliers to electrify their fleets to decarbonize last-mile delivery Packaging • Optimize our packaging to reduce shipping weight and volume to reduce overall fuel consumption for Cisco product logistics • Increase recycled and recovered materials used in packaging, and engage municipal waste facilities to use less-carbon-intensive methods of disposal Renewable and low-carbon fuels • Continue to invest in low-carbon and renewable fuels, such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), to signal our interest in growing the market • Invest in additional innovation technology to optimize fuel consumption and lower emissions through other alternative fuels 5%
