6. Recognizing the role of education and business play, the human capital
committee of Capital Crossroads focused on a cradle through career
approach to build the human talent pipeline
Eighteen months ago, GDMP and the Business Education Alliance began a
collaborative that has grown to over 140 education, business, non-profit and
public stakeholders
Stakeholder groups are implementing many successful programs however
initially many were not interlinked nor engaged. EDGE has brought
stakeholders together in an effort to align with a robust community goal
EDGE is a community campaign to build a sustainable talent pipeline for our
community

Campaign rally cry for all Central Iowan’s to get behind and continue
positioning our region as a competitive, global marketplace.
Robust Community Goal
Increase the percentage of Central Iowa adults who have high-quality degrees,
certificates and other credentials to 75 percent by 2025 with educational outcomes
aligning to workforce needs.

8. Outreach campaign rolled out to all stakeholder groups, employers, GDMP’s
5,700 members and 21 Affiliate Chambers of Commerce
The campaign has a “call to action” for each sector group and include an
engagement toolkit
The education sector holds ongoing quarterly meetings with our region’s 37
superintendents
Comprehensive advocacy strategy that aligns with GDMP, Iowa Chamber
Alliance, Area Education Agency, United Way of Central Iowa and stakeholder
groups
