2. STEP 1: Maintain Object Attributes
• Select Standard Batch/Direct Input
 Object: 0001
 Method: 0001

3. STEP 2: Maintain Source Structures
• Create the source structure
 Source Structure: BTEXT_SS
 Description: Basic Text Source Structure

4. STEP 3: Maintain Source Fields
• Maintain Source Field
 NAME = Material Code
 TEXTLINE = Long Text Line

5. STEP 4: Maintain Structure Relations
• System display 2 level relation for Header(LTXTH) and Lines(LTXTL)
 LTXTH: BTEXT_SS
 LTXTL: BTEXT_SS

6. STEP 5: Maintain Field Mapping & Conversion
• Maintain the field mapping
 OBJECT: [CONSTANT] – “MATERIAL”
 NAME: [TRANSFER] – FLAT FILE COLUMN 1
 ID: [CONSTANT] – “GRUN” (BASIC TEXT)
 SPRAS: [CONSTANT] – “EN”
 TXTLINE: [TRANSFER] – FLAT FILE COLUMN 2

7. STEP 5: Maintain Field Mapping & Conversion
• To set multiple line of long text, navigate to Menu > Extras > Hide and Display Field/Code
• Pop up to determine layout appear
• Select processing times

8. STEP 5: Maintain Field Mapping & Conversion
• System display few field options for processing times.
• Click on change mode.
• At __END_OF_RECORD__, double click on the

• Pop up decision appear. Click YES to proceed.
• Change the code transfer_record to on_change_transfer_record. This particular code will enable for multiple long text as it
will find next header once found new material code.
• Click on SAVE icon
• System display Rule in red color to indicate rule is modified.

10. STEP 6: Specify Files
• Select Legacy Data On the PC
 FILE: Select the flat file (TEXT TAB DELIMITED Format)
 NAME: Define the name
 DELIMITER: Tabulator
 FILE STRUCTURE: Field name as start file

11. STEP 7: Assign Files
• Check the file path

12. STEP 8: Read Data
• Read the data.
• 6 record is expected for 2 materials with 3 multiple long text.

13. STEP 9: Display Read Data
• Display the read data from flat file

14. STEP 10: Convert Data
• Display the convert data record from flat file

15. STEP 11: Display Converted Data
• Display the converted data.
• Notice there is 2 header with 3 multiple long text.

16. STEP 12: Start Direct Input Program
• Execute the direct input program.
• System will display the logs of created item.

17. STEP 13: Display Long Text Data
• Go to TCODE MM03 and select Basic View
• Click on Basic Data Text and notice the long text is updated
