The TWDB Subsidence Study aims to analyze major and minor Texas aquifers to assess subsidence risk. The project will develop subsidence prediction tools for at-risk aquifers and recommend subsidence monitoring methods. Key data to be compiled includes the distribution, thickness and compressibility of clay layers; water level changes and lowest historical water levels; geologic depositional history; aquifer material properties; pumping data; and subsidence observations. The project team will contact data sources, review data, assess risk, recommend monitoring, and provide state-wide reporting.
