- Long-term memory is where we store
memories for long periods of time.
- Long-term memory encodes
information for storage semantically is
based on meaning and association.
However, there is also some evidence
that long-term memory also encodes to
a certain extent by sound.
Semantic memory contains general factual
information and knowledge related to your
world.
It includes:
 The meaning of the word 'memory'
 The concept of a book.
 Understanding of multiplication.
For example
- When we can not remember a word but
it is "on the tip of the tongue", this is
usually based on the sound of a word,
not on its meaning.
- Try to remember the last three minutes
of your life. You can probably talk about it
in great detail where: were you, what
happened, what did you feel.
 Repetition works is when
the students are asked to
repeat a sound, word or
phrase, either individually
or in chorus..
 According to a new study focusing on
language acquisition in the brain, even
short repetitive exposure to new words
induces a rapid neural response
increase that suggests memory building.
For example
Pronounce the word eat: eat, eat, eat.....
