The Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Release provides an update on qualifying marks, upcoming championship meets, athletes of the week, and top performances from LSC schools. 22 athletes have achieved automatic NCAA qualifications while 115 have reached provisional marks. The 2018 LSC Outdoor Championships will be held May 3-5 at Angelo State University. LSC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field athletes have recorded 22 NCAA Division II Automatic qualifying marks
(16 men, six women) and 115 provisional efforts (66 men, 49 women). See the LSC performance list here:

May 3-4-5.

MEN’S TRACK
Quinton Sansing, West Texas A&M University, FR, Floresville, Texas, Floresville
Sansing impressed this past weekend at the New Mexico Junior College Ross Black Invitational in Hobbs as the freshman
finished second in the 400m Dash with a converted time of 46.84 for a provo mark and the third best time so far this
year in Division II. The Floresville native also competed in the 200m Dash as he finished second with a time of 21.43.
MEN’S FIELD

Perez became the second Javelina to post a provisional mark in the shot put. He launched the shot 52-9.50 (16.09m) to
finish seventh in the event at the UIW Invite
WOMEN’S TRACK
Nele Heinrich, West Texas A&M University, SO, Guben, Germany, Sportschute Friedrich
Heinrich had a big weekend at the New Mexico Junior College Ross Black Invitational as the sophomore hit a provisional
mark in the 400m Dash with a converted time of 54.38 for the second fastest time so far this season in Division II. She
also competed in the 4x100m Relay as the Lady Buffs, who already hold the second fastest mark in the country, finished
fifth in the event with a time of 45.64.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Fatim Affessi, West Texas A&M University, SO, Geneva, Switzerland, Geneva University
Affessi, the USTFCCCA Division II Outdoor Female Field Athlete of the Week, posted a historic triple jump mark at the
NMJC Ross Black Open over the weekend, hitting a barely wind-aided 43-5 (13.23m). Affessi's mark was not only the
lone NCAA Division II Automatic Qualifying Mark in the triple jump this season, but it also comes in as the fifth-best
2. wind-assisted mark in NCAA Division II outdoor collegiate history. The mark by the sophomore from Switzerland was the
best during the regular season in NCAA Division II - wind-assisted or not - since 2014.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Ivar Moinat, Eastern New Mexico University, posted a first-place finish in the 800m dash at the New Mexico Junior
College Ross Black Invitational. His time of 1:52.11 was more than two seconds ahead of the runner up and provisionally
qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Dalton Stidham, Tarleton State University, competed at the East Texas Invitational this past weekend. Stidham
boasted an NCAA provisional time of 14.26 in the 110-meter hurdles and finish second-place. This marks the fifth
consecutive meet Stidham has surpassed an NCAA provisional mark.
Javier Lopez, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, broadened his horizons and pushed to a 10.46 time in the 100m dash
for an NCAA Provisional mark and a top finish. He now owns at least a share of a provisional mark in three separate
events, the 100m dash, 110m hurdles and 4x100m relay, and owns the fastest time in the 110 hurdles
Clarence Cowart, Eastern New Mexico University, registered a first-place performance in the javelin at last
weekend's New Mexico Junior College Ross Black Invitational. His throw of 149-4 was nearly eight feet further than
runner-up Kaleb King from Lubbock Christian.
Rascellis Williams, Tarleton State University, competed at the East Texas Invitational this past weekend. Williams
claimed a gold-medal for the Texans in the high jump clearing 6-6 (1.98m) in the event.
Kandice Miles, Eastern New Mexico University, had an outstanding week posting a pair of NCAA Division II
Championship provisionally qualifying marks at last weekend's New Mexico Junior College Ross Black Invitational. She
completed the 200m sprint with a time of 24.33 and ran the final leg of the 4x100m relay for a time of 46.60.
Lisa Flores, Tarleton State University, competed at the East Texas Invitational this past weekend. Flores finished the
5000-meter run in a career best time of 19:42.87 to take home a silver medal.
Kara Bickham, Tarleton State University, competed in the javelin throw at the East Texas Invitational. Bickham
tossed the javelin 105-0 (32.00m) to secure a silver medal.
3. Racheal Somoye, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, took first among all D-II participants in the hammer throw at the
UIW Invite, as she's prone to do, with a mark of 177-10 (54.20m) in the event. Somoye owns numerous spots in
TAMUK's top-10 list in the event and is second in the NCAA at the moment in the hammer throw.

Kandice Miles paced a strong effort by the Eastern New Mexico University outdoor track & field teams at Saturday's New
Mexico Junior College Ross Black Invitational. The sophomore sprinter qualified for the NCAA Championships in the
200m dash and led a qualifying effort in the women's 4x100m relay. As a team, ENMU had 10 top-five finishes and 25
top-ten performances. Miles completed the 200m dash with a time of 24.33, a provisional mark for the national meet.
She also ran the final leg of the 4x100m relay along with Lateria Slaughter, Danee Bustos, and Zhane Gurule in a time of
46.60. Both times were school records. The Greyhound men's team took first place in five events at the meet. Marcus
Parker won the 200m dash, Shane Walsh won the 1,500m run, Ivar Moinat won the 800m run and provisionally qualified
for the NCAA Championships with a time of 1:52.11. Clarence Cowart took first place in the javelin. The Eastern New
Mexico University track and field teams will return to action on Saturday, for the West Texas A&M Invitational.

The Javelina track and field program went to San Antonio this weekend to participate in the Eighth Annual Cardinal
Invite hosted by the University of Incarnate Word and came away with five provisional marks in the process. TAMUK got
three on the first day thanks to Racheal Somoye and Alyssa Canul in the hammer throw, while Andrew Perez added a
provo mark in the shot put for the men. Javier Lopez and Richard Cervantes added one more each on the second day as
Lopez took first in the 100m dash while Cervantes paced the discus with a first-place finish.
West Texas A&M
West Texas A&M claimed a pair of event titles highlighted by Fatim Affessi setting a new top mark in the country in the
triple jump on Saturday afternoon as the #13 Buffs and #3 Lady Buffs competed at the Ross Black Invitational at the New
Mexico Junior College Track Complex in Hobbs, New Mexico.
The Buffs and Lady Buffs head to the West Coast next weekend to compete in the Long Beach State Invitational, the Mt.
Sac Relays and the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational while also hosting the WTAMU Invitational on Saturday in
Canyon.
