Several Lone Star Conference athletes qualified for the NCAA championships or ranked highly in the conference with their performances in recent meets. Corey Bassett of Harding University placed second in the 55-meter dash. De'Onte Garrett of Harding won the shot put with a personal best. Ewa Zaborowska of Harding won the mile run, setting new complex, school, and conference records. Jenae Wolfram of Eastern New Mexico set a new school record in the weight throw. This week, several conference teams will compete at the Masked Rider Open at Texas Tech.

Corey Bassett, Harding University, JR, Plano, Texas, East HS
Placed second in the 55-meter dash at the ASU Scarlett and Black Invitational with an NCAA provisional time
of 6.37 ... his time was .01 off his personal best and the converted time comes out to 6.85, which ranks 20th
in Division II.
MEN’S FIELD
De’Onte Garrett, Harding University, JR, El Dorado, Ark., El Dorado HS
Earned his first career event victory in the shot put at the ASU Scarlett and Black Invitational ... won with a
personal-best throw of 48-8.25 (14.84m) ... ranks fourth in the LSC in the shot put.
WOMEN’S TRACK
Ewa Zaborowska, Harding University, SR, Wejherowo, Poland, King’s Jan III Sobieski Secondary School
Won the mile at the Emory CrossPlex Invitational in Birmingham ... her automatic qualifying time of 4:44.97 set
complex, Harding and Lone Star Conference records ... it was her second automatic qualifying time this season
(3,000 meters).
WOMEN’S FIELD
Jenae Wolfram, Eastern New Mexico University, JR, Bosque Farms NM, Valencia HS
Wolfram opened the season with a record-breaking performance at the University of New Mexico Lobo
Invitational. Her toss of 48-11.75 in the weight throw set a new ENMU mark and ranks first in the Lone Star
Conference. Wolfram also had a strong showing in the shot put with a 19th-place finish.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Sabrina Huelga, Eastern New Mexico University, turned in an outstanding performance at the University of
New Mexico University Lobo Invitational, to open the season. She registered a fourth-place performance in
the women’s 800m run. Huelga’s time of 2:18, put her a full second ahead of Cal State-Northridge’s Jocelyne
Ferrufino. The time was currently ranks first in the Lone Star Conference in the event. She also competed on
the Zia’s 4x400 relay team.

Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico University indoor track & field teams successfully opened the 2015 season at last
weekend’s University of New Mexico Lobo Invitational. Both Jenae Wolfram and Sabrina Huelga notched
strong performances and lead the Lone Star Conference in the weight throw and 800m run, respectively. This
weekend, the Greyhound and Zias will head to Texas Tech.

No meet scheduled for last week. Will compete at the Masked Rider Open hosted by Texas Tech on January
30-31.
West Texas A&M
The West Texas A&M No. 12 women’s and No. 22 men’s track & field teams had the weekend off from
competition after canceling their trips to Albuquerque, N.M. due to inclement weather. The Buffs and Lady
Buffs will return to action this weekend as they compete in the Masked Rider Open, hosted by Texas Tech from
Thursday, Jan. 29 to Saturday, Jan. 31.
