- Did anyone go to the AUA Annual Conference 2012 session in Manchester that Malcolm Gillies provided entitled: Portfolio management: efficiency, quality utility – I will be referencing some of Malcolm’s presentation during this session Merger – has there really been a merger.....dual everything – north management – email systems etc Student funding debacles – well documented – leads to fine of 36 million over three years – change in management and governors Student non completion rates – high – this leads to funding and resource problems – spend a lot of time recruiting students and lose them Low student satisfaction – NSS – not good – entered league tables – at bottom.... New Strategic Plan - developed together in an open manner – clear that radical transformation required – or we will go broke and cease to exist – include basic reviews such as UG and PG and Research – Browne review – transfer of funding to student Market – quasi market – now based upon demand 16/07/13
