1. Location Research (no particular
order)
We will use Woodthorpe woods to film our most rural shots to show the clear
transition of the actor’s journey in the video from an urban to rural place. Here the
actor in the video becomes really calm and we have live performace here for a few
seconds which fits in with the calmness of the song.

2. We will utilise these next to Lendal Bridge steps as half of the stairs shot, allowing us an
easier shot of the character moving down steps, as in the other location we cannot get
a good shot of him walking down the stairs.

3. We will use Woodthorpe Lay by
facing the houses to show a
transition from urban into a semi
rural area, showing a field and
houses in the background.
We will then also use the lay by,
but facing the other way where
there is no houses in the
background to continue the
transition of the video becoming
more rural.

4. We are going to use Jack’s side gate for the gate shot where the actor in the video is
tapped and the gate/padlock is in the shot, showing the barriers in the person’s life.

5. Character moves from left to right outside York Minster. This is going to
be one of the urban locations. The video is going to start at one of the
urban locations.

6. Outside York Minster is the Constantine statue (the first Christian
Roman Emperor) where we will get a shot reverse shot of the character
in the video, and his point of view looking at the statue.

7. Similarly to the Minster location/shot, this location is urban and
will be used early on in the video, where the actor starts his
journey in an urban place, and gradually heads out to a rural
place.

8. After shooting our fairly urban shots at York Minster and
Clifford’s Tower, we will head out of the urban city centre to the
rural layby/woods. On the way to the layby we will shoot a shot
which clearly shows the transition, on Tadcaster Road, with the
racecourse/Knavesmire in the background. In this shot we can
include pedestrians, cars, and a large/open field.

9. We are going to use Hob Moor as another rural setting to film our rural shots to
show the transition from urban to rural, to give us more of a variety of
surroundings in our music video. This is going to be the point in the video where
the actor becomes really upbeat (related to the tempo of the actual
music/song)
