This document proposes a short film called "Debt of a Mute" about a girl named Poppy who uses music and headphones to cope with social anxiety and avoid social situations. The film would follow Poppy through her daily activities like detention, a coffee shop, and the train station, showing her inner thoughts through music. Her only motivation is to graduate college, while her brother Daniel's goal is to help her be happy again by giving her a music device. The film aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and relate to teens struggling with similar social anxieties.

3. Why we named it this:
We decided to call our film this as we feel her music is a barrier between her and social
situations, when she does not have her earphones she loses the little confidence that
she had, This affects her as a person and affects her well being I.e why we chose the
first word to be debt.

4. Proposal
The short film we’re going to create is based around a girl
who cannot handle social situations or is generally anti social.
She always has her earphones in and unlike a music video the
short film is mostly based around her inner monologue and
music in each scene.

5. Characters,motivations and goals
Characters:
Poppy Bright -portrayed by Evie Henderson
Daniel Bright- portrayed by Alex Henderson
Motivations:
Poppy has no motivations, but to get through life without any social aspect. Apart from one exception, her brother.
Daniels motivation is to keep his sister happy and be her best friend as well as her younger brother.
Goals:
The main goal of Poppy Bright is to graduate college and get over her anxiety.
The goal of Daniel is to motivate his sister to be happy again, which is why he gave her, her device to listen to music on.

6. Scene 1
At the beginning the girl is in detention ,
as the teacher begins to shout she puts
her earphones in and exits.
At the same point her inner monologue
will start.

7. Scene 2
She is in her favourite Coffee shop
Reminisces on her first time coming to the shop
with her brother
Girls in corner begin to laugh - she ignores
them
Gets up to leave and exits
While exiting one girl from the group of girls
follows her and runs of with her music device

Walks to market
When at the market she goes to the
sweet stall
When being served she begins to
stutter and stumble over her words

Sat down at the train station
anxious , overly aware because she is not used
to the sounds of the real world only her
music
Sits next to guy hears his music through his
loud earphones
Moves closer to him
He gets up and leaves.

She looks out the window as song plays
through train speakers
