Literature Review
This particular literature has been taken from a journal article of the Forum for International
Research in Education (FIRE) titled “Family Involvement in Emirati College Student Education
and Linkages to High and Low Achievement in the Context of the United Arab Emirates” and it
is written by Georgia M. Daleure, Rozz Albon, KHaleel Hinkston, and Tarifa Ajaif. According
to the authors, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the ability to create annually 10 thousand new
private sectors jobs. Yet, the country is experiencing the highest youth unemployment rates in
the area. The reason behind this is the Emirati students mostly prefer to work with the public
sector not in a private sector. Besides this, the employers of the private sectors are also preferred
the foreigners over the Emirati’s as the foreigners are less costly, more qualified, more skilled,
more experienced in comparison to the Emirati’s. Owing to these reasons the government
authorities has taken various initiatives in order to improve the education as well as skills of the
Emirati students (Daleure & Albon, 2014). Besides this, the government is going to set up
important labor laws that promote private sector employers to hire and grow Emirati work force.
According to this particular article the Emirati’s do not want to work in a private organization as
they do not get the expected payment as well as other facilities, which they used to get from the

Public sectors as government used to give significant benefits to its employees. In a similar way,
the private sectors organizations also do not want to recruit any Emirati’s as the organization
cannot fulfill the demand of the Emirati’s as well as the organizations do get more skilled and
experienced, more productive employees in lesser cost if the organization recruit foreigners
instead of an Emirati.
