The document describes two kindergarten math activities. In the first, students will taste different pies and graph their favorite to practice collecting and organizing data. They will then analyze the class results to see which pie was the most popular. The second activity has students use a word problem to complete their own graph about favorite Thanksgiving foods.

2. The students will each taste pecan, pumpkin, apple, and cherry pie. Then each student will pick
their favorite pie from the four types. They will color and label the pie cut out according to which
flavor they picked; pecan: brown, pumpkin: orange, apple: green, and cherry: red. The class will
be given fifteen minutes to complete the hand out and then come to the carpet. There each stu-
dent will graph their pie cut out in the appropriate column. As a class we will then count how can
people like each type of pie, talking about the favorite to the least favorite.
