Do you know   what your body is trying to tell you?
Why do you care?
For example, your body tells you
For example, your body tells you when you’re hungry
For example, your body tells you when you’re hungry   when you’re tired
For example, your body tells you when you’re hungry   when you’re tired   when you’re thirsty
For example, your body tells you when you’re hungry   when you’re tired   when you’re thirsty When you’re angry
For example, your body tells you when you’re hungry   when you’re tired   when you’re thirsty When you’re angry   when you’re happy
How would you know
How would you know how to
take care of yourself… How would you know how to
… without your body’s signals?  take care of yourself… How would you know how to
Once you start “listening”
Once you start “listening”  you’ll begin to notice many other things
Once you start “listening”  you’ll begin to notice many other things  your body has to tell you.
Use what you discover
Use what you discover to help you make decisions.
You will find yourself
… making supportive decisions You will find yourself
… making supportive decisions You will find yourself easily and clearly.
Sounds pretty magical, yes?
So how do you do this “listening?”
You start to “listen”
You start to “listen” by simply beginning
You start to “listen” by simply beginning to notice what’s happening in your body
You start to “listen” by simply beginning to notice what’s happening in your body  in any moment
Let’s do some simple exercises
Let’s do some simple exercises to start developing your awareness!
To begin, be seated
To begin, be seated  in a comfortable position...
Take a couple of deep breaths  to relax.
Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw
…  create tension in your jaw  Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw
…  create tension in your jaw  Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw and notice the sensation
…  create tension in your jaw  Now, place your attention on the muscles around your jaw and notice the sensation when the muscles around your jaw are tense.
Now relax your jaw, and just notice the difference between
Now relax your jaw, and just notice the difference between tense jaw muscles
Now relax your jaw, and just notice the difference between tense jaw muscles and relaxed jaw muscles.
Okay,  now let’s experiment with  your shoulders.
tense your shoulders for a few seconds.
Notice how that tension engages surrounding muscles as well.
Notice how that tension engages surrounding muscles as well. You may even find your back slouching, too.
Next, take a deep breath
straighten your spine Next, take a deep breath
straighten your spine Next, take a deep breath and hold your head upright.
Keeping your spine straight,
Keeping your spine straight,   allow your shoulders to just relax.
Notice the contrast between

Notice the contrast between  and tense shoulders relaxed shoulders
Again, notice how  changes in your shoulders
affect surrounding muscles Again, notice how  changes in your shoulders
Let’s try one more…
… this time we’ll focus on the belly. Let’s try one more…
Start out by
Start out by   tensing your belly
Start out by   as if someone has just tensing your belly
Start out by   as if someone has just tensing your belly punched you in the gut.
Feel the tension and
Feel the tension and notice what happens to your breathing
Now, allow your belly to expand
Now, allow your belly to expand as you take a deep breath,
Now, allow your belly to expand as you take a deep breath,  and just relax.
How does relaxing your belly
How does relaxing your belly effect your breathing?
How does your body feel
How does your body feel  when your belly is relaxed?
How does your body feel  vs.  when your belly is relaxed?
How does your body feel  when your belly is tense   vs.  when your belly is relaxed?
Continue to practice
Continue to practice  being aware of your body
Continue to practice  and you will begin to  being aware of your body
Continue to practice  and you will begin to  being aware of your body  appreciate your body’s wisdom.
Pay attention to what you are doing
Pay attention to what you are doing when you feel tension
Pay attention to what you are doing or a sensation of being relaxed. when you feel tension
What is
What is your body trying to tell you?
Keep “listening”
Keep “listening” and being curious…
Keep “listening” … and you will begin to know and being curious…
Keep “listening” … and you will begin to know and being curious… what your body is telling you.
Follow that guidance
And you will start to notice
And you will start to notice the  magic
And you will start to notice the  magic around you.
